You may qualified for the settlement if you sign up with Capital one, and you also has a credit protection plan from them, or you didn't actually sign up that plan, but somehow capital one charge you on it. Because such credit protection plan just a piece of junk, which is sold by the third party which capital one PR claim to have no idea of, but they sincerely apologize all the inconvenience that cause to its customers. This settlement just like any other settlement, it cost over $10 million or more, so, check your status, and you may qualify for it. One more advice, if you have any other credit card, and they charge you on some sort of credit protection plan, make sure you didn't agree with them, and call them to dispute such item, otherwise they simply trying to rip you off, no matter what.

Hi, I am not happy with Capital One. I am thinking about changing banks. Thank you so much for sharing the information. I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful weekend!

I read up on this. The payments will be sent to those qualified whether the contact Capital One or not. I hope other credit card companies are shaking in their shoes right now because this is just the beginning. The third party service vendors do this work for Capital One and a lot of other credit card companies often from other departments within the same call centre. I work for one of these vendors and my site services three entirely different banks. Thankfully I don't work for one of the US branches involved in all this. I can't say who the banks are anyway. For Capital One PR to say that they didn't know about this is complete bs. When third party call centres are contracted they are trained by the client and have to abide by the policies of the client. Capital One would have had oversight of the operation at all times. If they were unaware of something they were willfully unaware and that is why they deserve the punishment instead of the call centres they contract to.
