Hi All, its a ramzan month. So it is a Haleem eating time for us. I like this so much. But I don't know the exact reason why Muslims eat Haleem in ramzan month. Can anyone let me know the reason for this. Do we like to eat Haleem?

I have never eaten haleem but, having read about it, I can see that it is a highly nutritious and filling dish made with wheat, barley, lentils, meat and spices which is cooked for a very long time and is suitable for those who have fasted from sunrise to sunset. Perhaps is is the long cooking time which makes it suitable to eat in Ramadan. Once the sun has set, one wants to waste no time cooking before one eats, so something which cooks slowly all day is a very suitable dish to come home to! Of course, haleem is not only eaten during Ramadan. It may be served all year round.

This is a myth that Muslim eat haleem only during Ramzan. Just because it is easily available during Ramzan , people think it is available only during Ramzan. I am of the personal view that you should eat such food during non Ramzan time as the quality, quantity and the pricing is far better.
