I need your opinion guys about making constitutions

A group should have rules to follow, so does a government has constitutions. This is to protect everyone's rights in the group. But at this point, I only have small constitutions and we're growing fast in our Otaku-anime/cosplay group. Do you have anything to suggest? It could be based on your experience way back in college or simply a rule that applies in your group or org to protect everyone. Like rules for online posts and such. Thanks and happy mylotting :)

This is is a very broad topic resy. First you should set up the organizational structure of your group. The schedules for meeting, the different committees and the functions of each committee. You should also take into consideration the conduct during meetings. I am glad that you have a fast growing group. My daughter is also an avid fan of anime. In fact she will be joining a cosplay competition coming august 25 in legazpi city.

Wow, that's great. Good to hear that you're a supportive dad parent for your daughter. Thanks for posting your thoughts about it. We do have a short constitution before but that was way back 2004 and right now I'm on the process of revising it. The last revision was way back 2007. LOL. Here in Manila we do have a lot of cosplay groups here but few things deeper about the power and protection that rules can provide in a group. Hope I can finish this one before September sets in. This is for the preparation of our team for another event that we may conduct in Christmas cons :) Happy mylotting and keep on supporting your daughter's happiness while guiding her to the best road that she needs to take, too :DDD

You should take a look at the Roberts Rules. They are used by many associations quite successfully and have been designed for general application to any group.

Can you suggest sites which shows how Roberts Rules work? I'm trying to search for it online but I can't seem to find the right one or the right step so Iwas hoping that I can find answers here in Mylot. So far I have answered the following questions and I am 3/4 done about this. The following questions are: The people that made this group possible: The group's aim and abouts: Define your organization's purpose and form How funds will run by the following activities: getting officers and how often are elections to be held? Who is eligible for membership? What are the rights of the different members? How may a member be removed? Who is responsible for fund collection and distribution Who may authorize expenditures? How often will meetings be held? Advisers and affiliations The remaining items which is amendments and parliamentary thingy is the one i dunno to be exact. But for sure we'll work on it more.
