Insurance Handbook -- issued by IRDA

I received an email from one of the life insurance companies in Mumbai informing that IRDA (Insurance Regulatory Development Authority) has come out with Insurance Hand book and they sent the link also. I have downloaded the same.

Those in India -- can see its usefulness and get doubts clarified.

it is very nice hear that you have received hand book issued by IRDA and with link about Insurance, i do have lot of policies and all are expired due to economy problems only one policy in force, that is enough , if any doubt arises about Insurance i will ask you for clarification, thanks for the information,have a nice day

hi ravisivan,
thanks for the response and thanks to extend help to me in clearing my doubts about the Insurance policy, at present i does not have that much doubt and i think,doubt may not arise, i am paying little amount that is ten thousand rupees for year per one lakh insurance,so no doubt at present,if i need surely i ask you,have a nice day.

But sir what is the use of this book. After creating my Life insurance I got some papers only.

yes. you have got papers. I am sure you would not have read even 5% of it. I took nearly 20 policies in my life and probably 16 or so matured already - believe me - i never read any policy even one per cent content.
So retaining this hand book will be of use when we have problems. - take policy- pay premium regularly- tell our relaties--make nomination properly. anything happens to the policyholder the nomine will get the money without any problem.

Thanks for giving the link. It is basically telling the policies for whom it is suited. I think it should tell the pros and cons of every policy so that people can understand it clearly and invest in the right policy that suits for them.

yes. further details we can know when we talk to insurance agents or browse the internet on life policy complaints etc.
