After talking to groomers and Pet store owners I have learned Hartz kills more cats than any other product. My own beloved cat almost died of it when someone bought a something Hartz for him once. I don't know how they can still sell this stuff! There have also been numerous court cases towards them as well. I would never buy that product in any shape or form. I hope you never do as well. What do you use for your cats?

That is awful.I have not seen that make in ages and to be honest I go to my vets and get what I need or buy the make the vets say off the internet, as I know that my cats are ok with what they say to use.
It is a shame that they sell these products that do not work or that makes a cat ill or worse die.
It is good that you have warned people about this make as you may have put people off buying it and have saved a few lives as well.

I keep seeing in the grocery store, the catnip and all that. I think it's bad for all cats and not just some of them like my mother thinks. I wouldn't chance it with any of them. I do hope one day this brand goes out of business for good. I wish there was way for them to do that. They can't call themselves a true animal lover while selling this stuff.

A lot of brands can kill your cats, many are not educated. I know I wasnt and I still learn every day. I have boughten Hartz toys, with no issues. But I know the current skepulation is the fleas, and tick products that can cause issues, they had it posted all over Facebook. I use to feed my cats chesap food brands such as Iams, Friskies and so on. I think may caause a lot of issues with their health. Im trying to change it right now, and it can be costly. I switched their wet food and they love the new stuff. I bought weruva its about $2.50 a tin, and Im trying a few dry food. But most of them are bpa free, and grain free, also no chemicals or additives.

Alot? Wow, I thought it was only one or at tops two. I wonder what the others are? I would love to be more educated on this topic. Let me know if you know of any other brands that are bad ok? I am trying not to feed my cat bad foods, etc. I fed my other cats Friskies long ago. Sounds like you have all of your info down right and give your cats only the best of the best. Congrats! Your cats are very lucky to have you as their momma.

I've never heard of that before and thanks for the heads up, if i ever do own a cat I won't buy stuff from this brand. What makes it so deadly? Does it have some sort of chemical or material that is dangerous for cats?

Yup something in it-- an ingredient but not sure which it is. You're very welcome. I had briefly forgotten about it and bought some catnip by Hartz alittle while ago and it made my current cat start itching allover badly. I threw it away ( the toy I made for her with it in it) and she stopped scratching like that. Whew.
