Andy Murray showed great skills winning the tennis Olympics 2012 championship by dominating Federer in the finals. Is the a sign that Murray would be ready to win his first grand slam championship?

Well Murray has really been in the best of his performance throughout the Olympics and showed great determination too. To his credit he was able to defeat the record holder Federer at the final. He is definitely fancying his chances of winning a grandslam. Also with Nadal, Federer, Murray and Djokovic all trying to get on top, tennis would surely be a winner.

Yes, I would definitely say these 4 deserve to be in the top 4 in tennis and they would always be the favorites to grab the grand slam tourneys of this year. It's possible though that others may raise their level of play considerably, especially those in the top ten and catch up with these guys.
Murray probably learned some other important tips, insights and special training from Lendl which could be giving him the necessary 'extra push' that could lead him from one success to another. The 'mind' is such a big factor in reaching the highest success in tennis as well as in other sports.

I have doubts if he will be able to. But since apparently Nadal has dropped out of the U. S. Open, that might be a chance for him to do it. That would be one less to worry about. But you never know who might sneak in and have a good tournament there. As was shown at he Olympics with Nadal it is possible for someone to come along and knock out one of the top guys.

I also have doubts that Murray could win the coming US open because I think he is slightly injured and just recently lost in the Cincinatti Open against Del Potro.
Anyway, I feel there is still a possibility if he would have time enough to be healthy and in peak form at the time the US Open starts. I guess maybe I'm speaking this way due to being a Murray fan :)

It is always difficult to judge how a person will respond to a breakthrough like Murray just had at the Olympics. He definitely picked a bad era of tennis to be the 4th best player in the world, with the top 3 being so great. Nadal being out of the US Open definitely helps his chances tremendously. I'm not one for predicting well, but I just think it has been such a long time for him without winning one that he will not end up winning a Grand Slam. However, it would be a great story if he did manage to finally pull it off.

Well I guess we can never tell until it hapens...or not! Anyway, for me my guess would be someday...maybe soon...he may be able to get his first grandslam, and if he gets it, it becomes possible that he gains a lot more confidence in grandslam tourneys and get more of them...but then again maybe not. But the way he has dominated the Olympics, I would say the grandslam is jut around the corner.
