Well I don't know about you, but I'd have to say that atleast 80% of the people on my facebook are not close friends or relatives. For this reason, I have a certain set of people that are able to see very limited things on my facebook pages. Some people have no privacy settings at all with the general public, they even allow anyone who searches for them to view all their photo albums and everything-- I find that a bit scary personally. What kind of privacy settings do you use on facebook? How important do you think they are? Thanks for commenting.

I use the "duck and dodge" privacy setting on FB. This means that I am on Facebook for personal reasons, but I don't let anyone know that I am there. If it seems like someone has discovered me and they try to interact with me, I just act like I never even noticed.

Hi,
Most of my photos are visible to my friends only and I activated the permission to tag. I usually change my password every month.
I check my privacy setting regularly because I think facebook changes it without permission, whenever they make changes on the site your settings also changes. To be honest, I also don't know some of my friends on facebook, some of them are my relatives' and my siblings' friends and neighbors that I only know by name.

Ummm... I hope everyone k ow that there's an option to "unfriendly" somebody, I less Facebook has changed their thing in past few weeks... What u don't understand is, I see so many people complaining about not having privacy on Facebook but have hundreds of people as a friend... I have 152 friends on there but you won't hear me complaining about lack of privacy... That's because I keep personal things personal... Whatever happened to emails & phone calls or even meeting up with friends somewhere to talk about personal things? Why post their life story on Facebook then complain about people getting in their personal business... It's like people drinking & complaining they're drunk... Well, that's what happens when you drink... Just as people will find out about your personal stuff if you post it on place like Facebook... People should using little bit of disgression... I go on to my Facebook may be once or twice a day just to check & see if any of my friends are up to something... I don't have anyone on there that I'm not willing to talk to one on one, person to person... If I see a friend of mine is up to something, I usually call them & leave a message or send them a text message, not post something on Facebook for everyone to see & wonder why everybody knows what I did with whom the night before...

I have created different lists so that I can target certain audience. For example. I have locals, non locals and over seas listings. Some are on my over seas list. Most are on my non locals and locals are on my locals. Then there are people who are not on any of the lists I have created.
So what ever list I want to speak to only people on that list will see. If I post to friends the all friends will see it. Then fb issues, I post to the public.

I only approved friends whom I personally knew.
My account is also private and that is the reason why people just can't send me request or find me through searches.

Hello Jshean20, I have also set up the privacy settings. I allow only my friends to see my photos and posts. I think it is the better option.
