I can't deactivate my account...

I only want to temporarily deactivate my account to see if I can live without facebook or not. But when I click on the "deactivate your account" button, there's nothing happened.
I clicked it many times and nothing. I tried to deactivate my brother's account and it worked, so I tried to do it again to my account and....nothing happened.
Now I really don't know what's going on...

I am not an expert, but the problem is either on your side or FB's side.
I am taking a wild shot here, but if it is on your side, perhaps clearing cookies and temporary files will help? (That is at least what one person tells me whenever I have a computer problem, except I clear mine every evening..lol)
The other option is it might be a FB glitch and you will have to contact them.

That sounds like worth trying! Well for now, I have deleted all the cookies, but I haven't tried to deactivate my account again since there's a friend who still send me message.
but I will try again for sure.

Did it work? Nooooooooo....
Now I don't know what to do. The help center on facebook doesn't help at all!

This is what I like about Gmail and Yahoo mail. All you have to do is Not visit an address for 6 months and it disappears.

If it's already inactive, I won't post this discussion.

Hi Miss Piggy: I think you have to contact Facebook support. Meanwhile I recommend you to ignore the notifications sent by Facebook on your account and try not to log in to the site.

First, I don't know how to contact Facebook support.
And second, will there be any effect if I ignore everything? Because I ignored all of the notifications on my brother's account and I still could deactivate it.

I have not joined Facebook. So I have no idea how to deactivate it.But soon I would have to join the famous social networking site, because I have recently joined an article writing site,Expertscoloumn and have written an article for it.I have to draw traffic to my article and for this I would have to join Facebook. However my son is in Facebook.Like you,he too had failed to deactivate his account in the site.

Why can't he deactivate it? Maybe he knows the reason? Because I think it's because the page that I have on facebook. And the second problem is, I don't know how to delete the page. Aah...this is what I haven't tried to search in help center!
But you know what, the help center isn't always helpful.

YOu can contact support and they can help you. Also, keep n mind that when you "deactivate" your account unless you do it a certain way all of your information stays on their servers.

I know the steps to deactivate the account. That's why I got confused when nothing happened. I mean, the next step of why we deactivate the account didn't show.

i think you can better drop a mail to them stating that you would want to deactivate and stating all the reasons behind it to their support team ,because you cant just delete it

One thing you might try is clear out the temporary files on your computer reboot and then try it again. Sometimes things in your cache cause problems when you are trying to do things on websites on the net. Have no idea why but it might be worth a try. Go to tools on your Internet browser window. Select Internet options and then delete the temporary files. If you are using something other that Internet Explorer though you might be on your own. I'm not sure how to do this with other browsers.

I have done everything you mentioned. I have cleaned the cache, I have rebooted the computer. I think it has nothing deal to do with the computer. I feel silly now since I can deactivate my brother's account (and even reactivate it!), but I can't do it to my own account.
