Angry Motorist apologizes

Philippines

Well, thanks a lot of the wrath of the People who are using the Social Networking Site the man finally gave in. He finally decided to face the public and apologizes to the MMDA official and request to have his driver's license. Asking the people to give him another chance, he stayed at home during the whole wrath. Well, this is a good start for some one like Carabuera, nice to know. though you have to admit there are abusive MMDA officials but they can be dealt with. Hope others wont the same act...

Yes, thanks to the social because he was forced to apologize to the MMDA personnel. But maybe , had it not been that way, he will not apologize at all. Now i think, everyone will learn from that incident and prevent themselves from doing the same in the future.

Hello Simplyd, Am glad that with the help of internet via Social networking we were able to have him apologize. because of video recording and vigilance i think we are able to show that we won't tolerate rude attitude on the road. I think he will try to run if he's given the chance for it. Have a nice day.

That's one nice advantage of social networking. Bad attitudes will not be tolerated.

I saw his apology on the news. I was wondering if the apology was sincere. I think it was more of a scripted apology since he was reading. Of course I could not tell what is in his mind since I am not him. But it would have been better if he spoke from the heart by not reading anything. Nevertheless, there was already an apology acceptance from the MMDA, but not yet from the enforcer. Regardless, I think he should answer for what he did. Apology should not be an excuse for the penalty of a crime committed and I hope that the enforcer or MMDA will continue to pursue the case.

Hello Jpso, I don't know about the sincerity but am sure he has NO choice but to apologize. but still if he's sincere then he should face his case. he got busted for that attitude and assaulting an officer is a real offense. I hope he would be just a penalty for the crime. I pity not only he's been insulted by his crime but by his appearance as well. have a nice day.

Well good to know that he decided to do what is right since everybody knows what he did to the poor traffic enforcer. But I think MMDA is still pursuing the case to the end. I think he has to face the consequence of it and it looks like he has to face the court and the court to decide what to do with him.

Hello Rsa101, Yes the important thing is he made a good decision such as these, though he might answer to the crime committed then that's good enough for me. yeah, the apology was not really the end of this fiasco, he needs to be punished still. well, am sure he will learn his lesson and try to be a bit nicer. Have a nice day.

Oh wow, how can I miss this? I didn't even know of this until I log on to myLot, lol! Well, hubby and I have been pretty busy running around so... Anyway, I'm glad that MMDA officer Fabros, though of humble origins, was able to bring down the "high and mighty" Philip orris executive to his knees. But let me check that news first, I'm so intrigued.

A mistake is always mistake and when it realises and if feel that the mistake is hurting someone and if it ends up with an apology, the hardness of the mistake reduces and at the same time the victim also become happy and would tranform to a happy mood. Normally, when the great people apologises, it would have great importance and it will become a morale for others also. It happened here also, some film stars and politicians also. People were demanding and when they apologised, the mob become so silent and found relaxed. An apology make differences and changes...

Hello Thanks1961, Yes and not to mention it was recorded and uploaded it in youtube.I don't think he's really that great, he's just a high ranking employee with no political connection what so ever. the Mob is strong through social networking. Have a nice day.

It's a pity, though, and one can doubt his sincerity because if the whole country was not condemning his deeds, would he even have thought that what he did was wrong? I have not seen him doing his apology, but I can sense that he was just "pressured" to apologize or else he won't be getting his license back. Just imagine all those countless jerks like him who were not caught on camera - I guess they will continue to be a$$holes. I just hope they see this example and learn.

Hell GloryaCam, I don't think He has a chance if he stick to his pride and all he will get is a suspended license and arrested. well, this is the sad part of our society, if there's no strong actively man power and will among the force, people would continue to be more rude on the road. Have a nice day.

I'm really glad that he does, sincere or not it is very hard to have an public apology in front of the media and people that he knows he will be seen all over the world.

Hello Lynboobsy, It's very hard to make a public apology because it really hurts your pride too but he made a mistake and has no choice but to apologize. the whole nation has seen him in his grave act therefore he should be seen to apologize in public too, which was right. have a nice day.

The question is if he really is sincere or he did it only because he has been the most hated person in the Philippines after that well publicized event. I may be judgmental in this sense but I really doubt if that arrogant man would ever do that if he was not flooded with words of hatred from sympathizers of the Enforcer. Well anyway, at least he apologized and I hope he really find it in his heart that he was at fault and may it be a good lesson to him.

hello LK, it is just too sad when someone like carabuena realizes his mistake too late. what is done is done but still i am glad that he is now calm and have apologized though still he has to face the consequences of his action. is anger really not easy to manage? you think there should be a seminar for it? i just dont have a word for unmanaged anger except - toxic, dont you? ann

yes at least he had been brave enough to admit his uncalled for display of superiority over the hapless MMDA who was just doing his job. Though personally I believe that he was only constrained to do it due to public outrage and his need for his driver's license. Hope he would remember this lesson for life and won't treat people as trash just because he thinks he is more blessed that them.

Hi, It is not enough of an apology really. The principle of being really sorry should follow at least these criteria: (1) To ask for an apology verbally; (2) To do ACTS of reparation to repair the damage being done and (3) Not to do the same thing again. Mr. Tabako (Phillip Morris, for those who prefer a branded name) should make good on his words of being sorry by doing some acts to repair the damage he has done. After all, that slap upon a lowly traffic enforcer is not a slap on his person but upon the whole Filipino people who vested that authority upon him. It is a slap against everyone: from the President of the Republic to the lowest citizen, to you and me. One reason, I fell enraged seeing the video on TV. Had I got my .357 on hand, I would have blasted the fu---ker right there. Now, he appears like a lamb for all the world to believe, but I know, deep inside him is still the devil that is only waiting for the right time to strike back. People like that should serve a prison term, doing community service such as manning traffic or cleaning the canal of garbage and getting abused in return by every passer by; slap, spit, kick and all. That, at least, is the justice behind being sorry for one's idiotic, irresponsible, immature, inhuman, barbaric actions against a man who lived by the sweat of his brow. unlike him who live by giving lung cancer to the whole society in general.

Lk, good to hear that the motorist realized his fault and asked sorry for it, to err is human, we must realize our fault and change the mistakes, this incident is a lesson to other persons and they don't do the same mistake again

Yeah, i am glad when i heard this on the news.. He did right to just apologize and not reason out for his actions since there is no good reason at all to hurt another person. I hope this serves as a lesson to all, never to hurt others and be more patient.

hope it's sincere and not the basic instinct of "self preservation" that's driving him to do this
