I need to get back to commenting on my responses to my other discussions but I had to post this one anyway.
I like new shows, don't get me wrong, but I love older shows. Shows that were aired before I was even born. Dukes of Hazzard and Mash 4077 are probably two of my favorites.
I plan to buy the series of both of them as I do enjoy the show, is that odd? Probably but it doesn't matter to me.
Do you like shows that were made BEFORE you were born?

born...unless its Lawrence Welks or Ed sullivan..those are two
old old shows I can remember but I never watched either one
of them...oh and truth or consequences....

Lawrence Welk hosted a music/variety show. Ballroom dancing, small orchestra and bubbles billowing around. Always said it was champagne bubbles. That was where I first saw Liberace--did you ever hear of him? Truth or Consequences was a game show. It was so popular that they even named a town in New Mexico for it. I liked "Queen for a Day", as a game show.

My mom got me into Dukes of Hazzard, and I don't know what got me into Mash. I used to watch t.v. with my grandparents too, so would watch the shows they would watch when they were younger / when my mom, aunts and uncles were growing up.
I've heard of Ed Sullivan, but Lawerence Welks I've not heard of, nor Truth or Consequences.

The ones that was made before I was born are the deck of cards that you flip in your hands to get the movement
Just kidding, but I do remember watching the Dukes of Hazzard when I was little. I never really got in to Mash. I do like some older shows but I don't usually go out of my way to watch them. I hardly get to watch shows at all.

I've been watching more television myself, but I go through spurts where I am either barely online or barely watching t.v.
Mash was just something I took too very quickly, but it could be that I wanted to marry Alan Alda because he was handsome AND hilarious. I even tried watching part of his science show he had later...

My parents would get a kick out of me when I was three because I was addicted to the show Emergency. My mom used to tell me if after we picked my sister up from school and we didn't go straight home I'd be upset and say "I wanna watch 'Mergency!" I don't know if you've seen it. It's an old one that was kind of like a tame ER.
As I was growing up I loved watching Nick at Nite and took particular like to The D ick van D yke Show as well as Dragnet. I loved Dragnet!

Was it a black and white TV show? Because I tried to look it up to give you a name for the show, but when I typed it in, come to find out there used to be a show called Honey, I'm Home. Literally, that was the name of it. But it wasn't black and white.

I honestly want to say that a few of the episodes were in black and white but I may be wrong. For part of my childhood I had my dad's old black and white t.v. so I may just remember watching it on that. Dang I loved that thing, watching shows in black and white, I felt like I was in the past!
I remember a fellow with glasses, dark hair, he was kind of chuuby, he was the father. It may be what you're referring to, I'm almost certain it is.

I hadn't heard of Emergency but that's just adorable! I remember watching a show on Nick at Nite, I remember the guy opening the door saying "hone I'm home" but I don't remember the show. I remember used to love to watch it.
Now though, kids can just ask momma and daddy if they recorded it on DVR! lol.

Hello my friend, am back here while the internet is not testing my patient... lol... anyway, I miss mylot and I tried to check friend's started discussion now... how are you and hows are friends here? Anyway, like you, I love old shows too... I am not sure if they were aired before I was born, but I love old shows and films... I happened to go to SM Supermarket here in Davao and I bought a buy one take one CD... what I love is the setting, or I just love to find out the past cultures, the past ways of interacting people...

Hey there! Long time No See!
Well mylot has changed, a lot of the people we used to converse with haven't been as active here or aren't active here at all anymore.
That Buy one get one deal seems very nice, I don't think there has ever been a deal like that here in the USA.
Old shows and films, even black and white, oh I love those the best!@primeaque86 (8108)

Hi there ... hows the farm? I still remember it lol... anyway, like modern talking? My friend love all their music videos, so he have a compilation of their CDs, what I love the most is the way they change - their style, their music... and you will know how technology play a vital rule for their success. But I still love the old ways they present their musics, the old ways they present at the back of their old backgrounds... you will gonna how exactly time changes the show!

You know a lot has happened with me since we last spoke, a lot. The farm dream is still there but I'm divorced now.
I love to listen to music from it's beginning (the artist's) to what it is today. Technology does play a vital role in the growth of a band or musician, and to see it from it's humble beginnings is amazing.

I love Mash and so does Randy. My other favorite is I Love Lucy. Today there is not much in the way of great shows and the classic ones are much better. I also like the Dukes of Hazzard as well. I also watch the old game shows.

I used to watch I love Lucy but one of my friends is a bigger fan of it then I am. We don't have the game channel here but I remember watching it and all the old game shows, so fun to watch.
I remember growing up with Super Market Sweep and one other as well.

There is nothing wrong with it at all! A lot of people still like the older shows. I know I came to appreciate the older shows because of family.

I am not much for older movies but some just capture my eye and I have to watch it all the way through. I think the last movie made back in I believe the 40's was "And then there were none" A movie adaption of Agatha Christie's book with the same title.

Before I was born there were not a lot of tv shows. Radio shows, movies, etc there were a lot of. I like the Green Hornet and some of those back then. The Dukes of Hazard and MASH were about the time I was in my 20s.

You mean they are remaking it? Not sure I'd like it to be honest. Just like when they made the dukes of hazzard movie, I refused to watch any part of it for the longest time. I like original, not copies! lol.

I dont watch much TV to be honest, but I find the older shows have more meaning to them, or they tend to be more than just s*x, and partying. I was at work the other night, and the only thing on was Big Brother 14, and I just shut the TV off at how stupid it was.

I watched that once, back when it was like in it's 2nd or 3rd season and it wasn't that bad, but I suppose it's gotten worse over the years. I wasn't even going to watch it because reality shows for the most part are stupid, just "real" soap operas.

I used to like sci fi shows, but not anymore. I agree, tv form years ago is a lot better then some stuff out today. I still like a lot from today though, I watch mainly the history channel now.

That's not odd at all. I LOVE to watch older shows. TV Land is a regular channel that I watch. I love Good Times, Fresh Prince, Full House, The Golden Girls, Saved By The Bell, Growing Pains, The Cosby Show, Taxi, Happy Days...I could go on and on. Not all of those were before I was born, but I grew up on most of them and I could watch them over and over. A lot of the older shows have that "feel good" vibe that you can't always get from the newer, extra-dramatic shows that are on nowadays.
