We got our scooter back tonight. Check this out, the guy that stole it saw an ad on Craigslist for a reward if we get the scooter back. He sold the scooter to a crack head (not surprised), and he had the nerve to call us and say if I tell you where it is can I get the reward money? WHAT?!?!? He has LOST his mind!!! Stealing our scooter, then trying to get the reward money for what he STOLE! He is nuts, I swear he has to be... So anyway, the police did not arrest him or do anything to him. They did not mark it down as stolen but instead something like unlawful operating or some crap like that!!!! We are still going to press charges on him. I am so ticked off and I hope he goes to prison for a very long time!! Can you believe the nerve of this moron??? Your thoughts...

Yeah, we were hoping he would go to jail but that's not going to happen apparently...He is greedy and stupid! I am glad we got it back though in the end...

Truth is often stranger than fiction anymore. Your particular crook is one reason why there are stories about stupid criminals. I guess since he was involved in returning it the cops viewed it more like a "joy ride" situation. He definitely is an entrepreneur selling it then try to turn it in for a reward. Make money off of it twice.

It is I agree. He is a darn stupid one, maybe the most stupid! I know it just makes me angry because if he did not know there was money involved for a reward we would have never gotten it back!! That's what makes me mad. He definitely was not just being nice, he wanted more money! Ugh, people...

Fantastic! I said you and Hubby were due for some good news. Now that I know he is an addict I think being locked up and having to go through withdraw in jail would be the best revenge!

We are super happy that we got it back and it runs better than it did before! Lol, the guy that bought it off this clown had it all tuned up and everything! I wish he would get locked up but honestly in this town, I think he's going to get away with it...

Out of curiosity, how old is this kid? And how did you get the scooter back? I'm really happy for you that you received it back, and I see from your other response, in better shape, lol! That's awesome and should put a smile on your face. I'm trying to figure out what is up with the police there? Why is he getting off so easily is what I'm curious about.

Ok, now I understand how exactly you got it back. I don't understand the way the police are taking this...he did STEAL the bike and SOLD it. I wish you could go back to the police station and explain to them that you'd like have the charges changed. It doesn't make any sense...plus he's not under aged. I thought maybe he was a teeny bopper yet and they were just letting him off lightly but this is not the case. Wow...I'm really shocked. I guess they feel since HE brought it back to you, it was returned basically...really dumb.

Yeah, unfortunately we had to do things HIS way to get it back. We felt guilty about it but we had to get that back. Plus he did not have our other stuff with him so he already got away with those things. I agree, it was stolen!! We are going to the police tomorrow to press charges on him and were hoping they will change it and lock him up. I don't want anyone else going through what we went through. It is so stupid!

Yes we will be very careful. I don't know if we will have to go to court or not...I am sure we will find out though soon.

Sounds like the police are not doing their jobs! That is not good! The guy who stole the scooter has no common sense and sounds like a complete nut case! i hope you press charges against him and he gets charged for what he did. Hopefully some time in jail, too!

We are definitely pressing charges because we do not want him to get away with it or do this to anyone else! He has some serious issues to do something like this and then expect to get OUR money for it!

I am glad that your scooter is back home. Some people will do anything for a little cash. I doubt he will get much out of that charge, but hope he learns his lesson. It takes a lot of nerve to call someone you stole from.

Yes we are glad it is as well. It was such a big headache trying to get it back and I am relieved it is over with! I know he won't be punished for it at all. If you or I stole something much smaller though we would be locked up, guarantee it!! Ridiculous what criminals get away with!

Yeah, I wish we never helped him or fell for his lies and sob story but that is the way we are. We try to help everyone and do right by others. Sometimes it kicks us in the butt!

Sometimes thats why people do the things they do because the cops let them off so easy. I think it should be considered stealing and he should be punished so I'm glad you are going to press charges. I actually had to laugh though at his audacity to try and get away with stealing this and then turning it in to try to get the reward. The guys nuts lol.

Oh I know it. This moron thinks he can get away with anything he wants and guess what? HE'S RIGHT HE CAN! That's the sad part. If I was caught stealing something though my butt would be locked up quick, I know it! It is crazy what criminals get away with...

hi LovingMyBavies oh how about the gall of that moron for sure.I am surprised he did not get arrested for theft.atleast last year when a thief stole the front tire off my sons bike the thief did not come back instead he left his pliers there.,my son had locked his bike on a stand out side his apt , bad idea.now he takes his bike inside. He did get another front wheel but its not been a perfect match so he still had problems riding it. I sure would go ahead and press charges against the moronic thief.

Yeah he has some nerve to do what he did to us and then expect our money for it!! He didn't get arrested only because he had my husbands permission to take it to the store. He is smart, he must have stolen enough from people to know he would get away with it!! We are still pressing charges and hopefully something will happen but I doubt it. Just because he asked to go to the store with it he got away with stealing! I think after he did not come back for days it should have been considered stolen...

That's ridiculous! The fact that he called in and ask for the reward, when he was the one who stole it in the first place tells me that there is something wrong with his brain. I don't want to wish ill on anybody, but this guy sounds like he needs to be locked up.
