I watch the cooking show with Giada Di Laurentis on it at about 3 p.m. sometimes on the Food channel. She seems to always cook something with cheese in it on every episode, haha. I noticed this awhile back. She is sooo thin and petite though I doubt she eats all she makes. Yesterday she was making different kinds of Asian foods such as Sushi and I love to watch people make that. It can be so creative and you can make it so many different ways. She also made a wrap with vegetables and some salmon in it. Now I wouldn't eat any of this but I think it turns out looking so pretty and it seems like I'd have a blast making it, anyways. Except I don't care for the smell of sea food so i don't work with it much really. Have you ever made something like this? Do you prefer just to eat it or just make it?

I love making and eating sushi. Usually I make cucumber rolls. Cucumbers are always in season and are cheep. When Avocados are in season, I will buy one once in a while for sushi. Yumm. It depends on what type of avocados are in season. Some are better than others. Smoked salmon is good in sushi. So are slightly steamed carrots. Bean sprouts yumm. The list goes on. You don't need to use fish.

Oh the cucumber thing, hehehe. I have had them coming out of my ears lately this summer cause my brother grows them here. I think I'm finally catching up to them all. I'm reminding everyone else here to about them to make sure they help in eating them as they're too much of them for me alone. I do eat alot of salad daily so they do help in keeping the grocery bill down as far as salad food for the summer. I would love to use them in sushi too. What kind of avocadoes are better than the others? I got a darker green one the other day, I usually get the greener kind. I don't know the names off hand. I wouldn't use fish if I ate them, however salmon is good on a sandwhich the say I make it. Just would use the other kid of salmon that looks very very raw and uncooked.

I've had sushi a couple of times and I'm not impressed. I was going to say it is bland but the truth is I find it tasteless. And for me, a couple of bites does not a meal make.
I've seen it made and while it is not very interesting, it looks very labour intensive and I was brought up not to play with my food.

She's Italian. She's gotta have cheese!
Though I agree she is thin and petite.
Since I am Asian, yes, I do like those sort of foods, but, I prefer the Korean version (kimpap) because sushi sometimes uses raw seafood.

I love the local sushi restuarent and been wanting to take a sushi making course. I would lvoe to make it myself and save myself some money. The seafood doesnt usually smell with sushi or at least I find. I love trying new recipes but you take the risk on whether you like it or not.
