My two year old has not traveled but has been sick. This means sleeping and waking hours have been completely SWITCHED! How do I get her turned around? I have two options. I either jumpstart her or let her sleep in One is easier than the other on your health physically and mentally and the other is faster. Sleeping in takes longer. Jumpstarting is easier but so hard when you have just stood up all night with a sick and/or crying baby. I have tried wearing out her energy by letting her run around the park a little extra the next day if she is feeling better but that is tricky. The fact of the matter is that she may tire herself out and fall asleep too early or she may get all energetic and stay up later on pure adrenaline and worse yet she may get overly tired which means a cranky baby. Those options have never worked for me and I prefer to just wait it out or jumpstart.Personally I could sleep 24hrs right about now being a mommy the past ten years needs a good beauty nap :) What have you done with your children? Has this happened many times to your family? Has this happened many times to you?

Aside from the one time that we travelled out of state to a time zone that was three hours behind the time zone that we live in, I've really never had to deal with this concerning my children. They are the ones that tend to have a routine that they typically stick to even when they are sick. When they are sick, however, I will let them rest as much as they need to and then they will pop right back to their usual schedule when they are feeling better.
