I'm not married yet, so sometimes I find myself dreaming of my dream wedding in the future. I haven't decided yet as to whether or not I would write my own marriage vows. I do think it's a beautiful thing to do, however I'm not always good with words and I guess I wouldn't want it coming out the wrong way. Did you or would you write your own marriage vows? What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I like the idea, but it wouldn't have been a good idea because I was blathering my eyes out during the entire ceremony. Just one big baby lol!

I do not have particular marriage vows. Only my husband loves me and we live a simple and happy life, i suppose that's enough and hope more people are enjoying this happiess with people you care. To be honest, i really never thought about special vows.

Well for me, it's great to write you own vows for your wedding because you are the one who knows what your really are, what you really feel towards your partner. It doesn't need to be grammar oriented or fluent english, but as long as thought expresses it and the people around you and your partner could understand it, then its perfectly okay.. It's your wedding and just enjoy it.

Randy and I wrote our own vows as well as the story of us. The important thing to remember is to speak from your heart. I did not write my vows out word for word, but jotted down key words. We read the story of us at our reception and everyone was touched on how we met, our courtship (places we went, our first date, the proposal) and finally what we want to do on our journey together. With the vows just remember to speak from the heart and share what it important, how much you the love the person and how much the person means to you.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to write my own vows. I don't remember ever thinking of wanting to do it on my own coz I had a lot of things in mind during those times. But it would sure be a lot nicer to make your own wedding vows. Adding a personal touch makes it real special.
