My grand son and son in law, always have that habit of teeth grinding during their sleep. The grinding is so intense that it already disturb others. How can we minimize or control such mannerism because it is so embarrassing when you are in the company of friends. Any suggestions or solutions to minimize this?

I would suggest visiting a dentist and have them fitted for bruxism splints for people with severe teeth grinding.. It is used to stop/minimize grinding at nights..It is not very good because your grand son and son in law lose some of their enamel when they do that..Stress causes it too.. Hope this helps.. Vanessa

Dual flex splint may help also depending on the teeth grinding situation...

When I was a higher education student I used to grind my teeth and my teeth became more sensitive. My dentist took a measurement indentation of my upper mouth for a tooth guard. At my next dental appointment my dentist put the tooth guard in my mouth and he asked me to close my mouth with it on my top teeth. I took it home and had it on my upper teeth every night. The tooth guard stopped me grinding. Good luck.

I used to grind my teeth in my sleep really bad. So bad that it wakes my husband. Then I went to my dentist and have him made me a mouth guard. I think it helped because on top of protecting me from filing away my teeth, I found out that I have ceased grinding my teeth when I forgot to put the mouth guard on and hubby didn't hear me grind in my sleep. I still wear it though just in case.
