Have you ever tried to see a ceiling fan paddles suspended from the roof of a nipa hut? Here is one example, the paddles of the ceiling is at the level of the clients' neck. This small scale restaurant is located on the beach, the ceiling fan was installed for pushing away the insects, like flies. At the back of my mind, it was like you are about to die in slashing your jugular veins, then bleed to death. lol. A weird imagination with that mechanical propeller. It will not be bothersome while eating the menu ordered in that restaurant. It is really a funny experience?

I don't think is a great idea.
If they thought (the owner) that will help to drive away insect from foods- they can replace the blades with something smoother.
I saw modified fans at the market.
Vendors replace the fan blades with plastic straw to avoid hurting themselves and their customer while driving away flies.

I personally think that the idea of having a ceiling type of fan at that level is something that is very very strange. The reason that I find this so strange is because of the fact that I would think that it could be leaned into and someone might impale themselves because of it. However, even more than that, I think that it would be terrible because of the fact that something like that hanging in the middle of the table would really inhibit discussions while enjoying the meal.
