My First Ever Completed Survey...

India
September 10, 2012 1:18am CST
We all know that we get paid to complete surveys. I tried them too. For the last 4 months, in different sites. Never managed to finish one, as I'm always screened out. Roughly I tried more than 50 surveys. Failed in each and every. Thus, I stopped doing surveys. But today, just 5 mins ago, something dramatic happened. I was checking my e-mails, found a survey invitation from Global Test Market. I wasn't willing to do the survey, as I was rejected by them in the past too. But then I remembered and they are legit and that they are paying. So reluctantly I gave it a try, just to check my luck. I was shocked that I was able to complete the survey this time. My first ever. I received 35 Market Points. Yes, it is small. But the pleasure of being able to complete a survey is greater and overwhelming. All these while I believed that surveys are a waste of time, I get so mad when I see the screen out page. But from now I'll be looking forward to more. Any such experiences with you? After how many tries were you able to complete your first survey? Do you get mad like me when the screen out page is shown to you?

May I know why did you fail for more over 50 surveys before? Actually I always get mad during the surveys - I have been joined GTM for over 4 years , but I have been active only for less than 1 year (after my first pay out) and I didn't continue again. It always took so long to finish a survey - I could spend an hour just to finish the survey - most of them were failed due to I wasn't in the mood to finish them . So I closed the tab and never finished it And the second reason I failed in some surveys were because of I wasn't eligible to join the survey, but GTM gave me 5 market point for non eligible surveys and the surveys that I never finished.

I was always zealous about surveys. I put in my best efforts and never left a survey half way. Its just that I was always screened out. I'm happy that this time around things turned out differently. Good day!

Umm.. I am not sure I got what you mean. What do you mean on screened out? The internet connection was disconnected accidentally? Or it was something about the page having troble on loading?

No not that. Suppose you are answering questions of a survey. You have answered about 50% of the questions. Suddenly the survey will stop and say that you are not qualified to take this survey. Maybe because you didn't match their criteria or they required some other data, etc. This sudden end is called a screen out.

Yes you are right. I should be more patient. Actually I'm ill-tempered and get bored very easily. I almost lost hope after so many rejections. But I guess from now on I shall be more eager and patient. Can you suggest me some good survey sites?

Survey site is worked well for targeted country, even I'm from Indonesia I still get a survey once in a month or more. Try to use surveyhead, cause they pay with dollar. They also accept worldwide members. I just need 2 or 3 survey again to reach the cashout.

I tried Survey Head as well. But every time the story remains the same. Screened out. Thankfully this time it was a different story. Good luck for your cashout. Hopefully you get those 2-3 surveys as soon as possible. Good day!

Yes you're right. I sometimes forget that online earnings are a patience game. Nice to know about your payment. How many days did it take for the cheque to reach you? You're so close to your 2nd payment as well (you get paid after 1,000 points are accumulated, right?). Hopefully you reach it as fast as possible. Good day!

Wow Mimo, Congratulations! Even I have experienced many screen outs, but I never get disheartened because GTM gives 5 points even on screened out surveys. As I mentioned in one of my previous discussions I have earned 1000 points from GTM, also I have redeemed my points and waiting to receive my first check from them.

Oh! I am glad I helped you and gave you a push to at least try giving a shot to GTM surveys. And wow! you completed your first survey at GTM. I am sure you will get many surveys from there and will be able to complete each of them. Following your and other mylotters advice I redeemed my market points then only. As everyone there had said that it takes around 8 weeks to receive checks in India, I am still waiting for my check. As it has been only 3 weeks and 4 days. Will let you know as soon as I'll get my check.

Do you know that you helped me in a way to complete the survey. Actually as I mentioned, I was reluctant to take the survey. I was giving it a miss, but then I remembered your discussion. You advised be back then, that I should keep trying, even if I fail to complete it, I'll be credited 5 points. Thus, I went on with this this time. Lucky for me that this around I was able to complete it. So thank you Inderjeet dear, thank you. So did you request for your cheque? I remember that you were puzzled as to you should cashout or not. I think I suggested that you should as dollar rate are high. So did you receive your cheque?

When I first started doing surveys I never qualified. It was very discouraging. Then I started to qualify. I currently get many surveys through email every day, I qualify, on average 4-5 a day. But to do this I have to go through 10-15 that I don't qualify for. These sites also have surveys on them as well, so I can go there for more. It's very time consuming. Some surveys are rude. I don't know how to explain it. Others seem friendly and genuinely interested. I don't get mad anymore when I'm screened out. I just move on to the next one. There are plenty out there. Some are just absolutely stupid. Some days I don't qualify at all for any. There are certain times of the day, I feel, that are better for doing surveys. I mean I seem to qualify more at certain times. I could be wrong. I could probably qualify for more if I had a lot of technology products - ipads, Android, DVR, 3DHDTV, whatever. I don't know what half that stuff is. Or if I had a whole bunch of diseases or if I was rich. Those seem to be the things they look for. If you really want to do surveys keep trying. That's what I did. Don't give up. Good luck!

Grrrr.... I'm not getting notifications from mylot. Yes I can share survey sites with you privately, according to mylot's TOS they can't be posted here. I am currently researching a big list of them but can give you what I think are good ones that I use. I found a really great one, read all the TOS & Faqs and when I went to sign up it's for UK only. Nowhere did it state this. Anyway, I'll be glad to share. PM me.

Yes exactly. I think the surveys should visit the patients in the hospitals rather than inviting us for the same. Its funny, that the more diseases you have, the greater are your chances of qualifying for most. Bad for me though, as everywhere I've selected no diseases. You said that you get a lot of invites for surveys. That means you are registered with quite a few survey sites. Can you suggest me a few good ones? Thanks for your response. Good day!

I do a few surveys aswell online, but this is hardly what people believe, you do not make fortunes for making surveys online, it simply doesnt make sense for companies to pay that much money for the informations they want. What I mainly dislike about doing surveys is that some companies can take you through 20 questions before they decide you do not belong to the group they are searching. I am fine with 3-5 questions for them to define if I belong to the group, but certainly not if they require 10 minuttes of my time and even dont reward me for it.

I do understand the excitement you are having now. I haven't tried to do survey on line, I do manually with the tasks I've done from the previous jobs. It was really a toxic job, but I enjoyed integrating and consolidating data.

I don't like filling out surveys as a way of earning an income. I too never had luck with them. But maybe thats because I live in Europe and we don't get as many over here as people in America. I would wait and wait and wait but I would rarely ever get invited to to fill out a survey, so I just stopped checking in the end. I think my lot is a lot better.
