Some people look for their luck to acquire MONEY. There are so many ways: work so hard like a horse and be promoted, conceptualize a very feasible business targeting the marketable consumers, work overseas and among others. If some people desired to have a short-cut detour of their lives to hold-on to a bunch of money, then go for lottery. I don't blame common people for buying lottery tickets, since most of the winners became rich instantly. They wanted to be in the same situation. But I have question, "how are you going to manage this fortune?" I am sure you'll say, to put in a bank and find ways to roll the money in investing assets. If in that case, you are really know the value of money. However, some lottery winners can not handle the pressure of having so much money. They don't know how to deal with it, some play a role of "happy-go-lucky" behavior. This is validated, when I saw a man in my country, he won MILLIONS in a lottery. The problem arises when he lives in luxurious life and over spend the money. The ending, the status reversed from "richest to rug". I really pity on his status, taking for granted the one chance of a lifetime fortune. What is your opinion about this?

I play a lot of free lotteries online-- I never buy lottery tickets, though. I have won prizes before-- I even won 100.00 once. I have always just put the money in the bank and still lived my life. I see a lot of people here in the USA who win big lotteries and go nuts, spending everything-- and I think they are so stupid to do so. My other half and I just finished giving away over 250,000 dollars of our money-- our whole retirement fund-- to our employees in our business over the last few years, but we didn't give them the money. We bought good used cars for everyone, and paid the insurance for a year. We are paying for 3 employees to go to college, as long as they still work 10 hours a week and keep a good grade average. We have paid rents on apartments, and each employee gets a 100.00 food card for a local grocery store with every pay check. We also have paid utilities, bought braces for their kids, and things like that. We know that we will have to close the business in the next few years because we won't be able to afford to keep it open, and we want to make sure our employees have something. We also have always matched savings account deposits for employees who decided to have part of their pay go directly to a savings account. Because we have been doing this for 3 years, all our employees are debt free, have savings, and most of them have either finished or will finish some kind of college or trade school within the next year or two, so they have good new careers.
Some of our employees couldn't handle money well when they started working with us, but over the years we have always sent them to free seminars and money management courses so if someone did hit it big in the lottery, or the economy got bad like it is now, they would know what to do.
I grew up managing money, and I taught my sons how to do so as well. I think that every parent should teach their child how to manage money, so if they have it they don't waste it. You really can't rely on luck-- If I did win a big lottery, I would save the money and keep living the way I do. Money isn't all that important to me as long as I have the things I need and a few things I like, and I don't have expensive tastes, which is good. I think people who spend it all do so because they feel like it will last forever-- here in the US, most lotteries pay out over 20 years, so they know they'll be getting a big check every year. It's a shame more people don't save it, but it's their choice-- most people who handle money well don't play lotteries in the first place anyway.

Wow, you made my day in seeing the kindness that you have given to the people that are close to you. Those things are the kind of things that I always wish would happen for someone. And now I am glad to see that someone has. I also am with you on the fact that most people that handle money well dont play the lotto. And the small party stores, which are often close for the lower income or elderly to get to, charge a whole lot more for the things that they need.

Well when the economy started going bad here, our business-- which we had spent over 16 years building, was really hit hard. Most of our employees have been with us a long time, and with no other jobs available, we felt we had to do something. Our lives would be a lot easier if we hadn't-- my other half could actually retire and stay with me here on the farm, and we could have paid it off-- but it wouldn't have been right. So now we are stuck, but at least we can sleep at night :-). I feel bad for him because he has to deal with not only continuing to work 16 hour days, seven days a week and spend over half the year away from me, he also has to worry about all my health issues. But when Obama got elected, we knew we had no choice. Both of us would rather be bankrupt than to have the government take everything we all worked so hard for and give it away to people who have not worked for it-- so we gave it back to the people who do work for it--our employees. And we will keep them working as long as we can. All the money I earn working at home (since I can't go out anywhere) supports the farm here in Washington, and he works the mine and the kettle korn business down in Arizona. Even if that jumped up communist gets back in office-- and unfortunately, he might-- he's not getting OUR money. Our employees will, and they are buying gold and silver and saving like crazy, because they know they'll need it. As long as we have the farm, we will have a roof over our heads, land to grow food and livestock, and the basics-- and that's all anyone needs.
I know what you mean about those small convenience stores-- but a lot of them charge more because they have to. When you are buying in small volume and not by the truckload, it costs more to buy things to sell.We go through that here on the farm, because we run a market during the summer. We sell our own produce and produce from other nearby farms, but we also buy extra-- and it costs a lot unless you buy in huge quantity. Everything we buy in we basically break even on-- we just buy it for our customers, so they don't have to drive 12 miles to town for things.

Ladygator, it is good to witness in our lifetime, someone who actually cares for people who work for them and care more for those peoples welfare. Unlike other people who choose to rip their workers off and make them labor like there will be no tomorrow or as slaves.
Chrystalia is one of those good, yet exceptional people I have met, she is presently contributing to my life too, which I am always grateful of, hopefully oneday I would be able to pay her for all these good. Given the chance to, I too have planned to help people at some point in life, firstly I need to get my game going and make something out of my own life.
Chrystalia, I would use this medium to thank you for what you have done in life, its entirety; God bless you.

If I was lucky enough to win millions I would put it into 4 groups. One to spend as we like. Do things with it that we have wanted to do or get for years that was never going to happen without the winning. The second group would be for education so the kids will never have to worry. The other half would get reinvested so that there would never be a worry about money ever again after retiring.

People do get carried away and forget if they rack up bills because they can they also have to pay them later on. To blow the whole fortune is sad and the results are harder to deal with than before that winning ticket came in. But, it is the fault of the winner and the choice to live it up or save some if they choose to or not. Can't feel sorry for them if they just go through it like water knowing it won't last forever.

I think that everyone would like to think that their lives will be changed and that change will be for the better. They will be able to do things they could not before. But in reality this isnt very realistic. I think that there should be a class for the people that win the lotto.

Well I admit that I am one of the bettors that fall in line every time the jackpot money rose high. But unlike others who regularly put in their money on it I only join in when the Jackpot rises to a certain level. But when the prize is not that high I do not place my bet there.
I also have read that winner that spent all of his money to waste and is back where he began. It is just reflective of how he manages his life. I think it should serve as a lesson to everyone that when given this opportunity to change your status to still be careful with the luck you got.

I have always had little or no interest in lottery, the reason for such was that I saw myself as being one of the unlucky ones. Some people are born with genuine luck and things mostly come to them easily or they were gifted unto them. I don't see myself as belonging to such category of people; I have never had anything come or happen to me easily.
Lottery for me is a way out of misery and suffer, GOD mostly picks people who are in greater need of it as winners as always being my thought. It will still be. Unless someone proves am wrong by showing me proofs of highly positioned or rich people winning the lottery. Such people rarely even think of the lotteryas they have a greater task of protecting what they have and often find themselves in situations that offers them more to what they have. Their problems has always being wanting more and protecting what they have which barely leaves time for themselves, that is why ill health has always being the problem they face.

That is a scary thought now, isn't it. I've seen stories on tv about people who have won the lottery and are completely broke right now. It all got out of hand and was all spent on foolish things. I guess they had a good time while it lasted though, lol!
I would split all my money up between my daughters, my grandchildren, family and friends. This way I would have enough to live on and buy my necessities that I need right now, invest some, and take a few trips. That would suit me just fine.

i guess when we win a lot of money we start spending and spending thinking it will never end. that was his mistake. if i won the lottery i would use some but i would let a lot stay on the bank. so that way i wouldnt make the mistake of spend it all. im sorry that he lost everything though. its a chance of a lifetime and he wasted it.

Well, I do not think I've ever bought a lottery ticket in my life. I may be too skeptical, but since I have a chance to win against several million, surely the winner is not me!
For this reason, ever since then not I will become rich with the lottery, I can not, however, adequately manage the assets of any gold won.
Ok, put in the bank and live on the income, but we are sure that this will assist in, or perhaps more we have, the more we want? I say this because the human race, usually aimed at this!

Lottery is more for helping charity, to be really honest, i buy lottery tickets simply because deep in my heart i know that the proceeds would somehow help our poor countrymen and alleviate their sufferings, nothing more and nothing less ( i don't expect to win anyway), you have a greater chance to be hit by lightning than to win at lotto and that's a fact, and to win for me is like a God given extra and I would be glad to share it with the needy anyway cause I did not have that much money to start with in the first place. Yes when you win in lottery it's not a guarantee that you would be financially secure for the rest of your life, it's how you handle your blessings, a local boy won millions in our place years ago and now he's applying for a work abroad!(guess you already know what i mean)
