God, Joke & Blasphemy...

In your religion, is the slightest and simplest joke on God or his teachings considered as wrong or blasphemous? If yes, do you think it is good? In your opinion should strict religious laws always be followed or sometimes we should relax, take things easy and good sense of humour should prevail? If you are of the opinion that a little joke is okay, then at what point will you feel that now its enough, the joke should not be stretched any further? Or are you of the kind, who believes that everything can be joked with, including God and there should be no bar to it? All kinds of views welcomed!

If someone jokes about my parents to humiliate them I'll really feel bad. Probably get angry and pick up a fight. But then again, they are my parents. I can see them, I can feel them, I can touch them, I know they are for real. But God/Goddess? Think about it. Having faith in something which is real makes sense, but on a thing whose very existence a debate and feeling bad for it, if someone makes a joke on it, is not very intelligent thing to do. Of course that's what I believe in. Everyone is allowed to believe in anything which they want to. Good day!

Hi MIMO, I am not religious and to my way of thinking, there is nothing wrong with a joke. For me, God is far above our way of thinking.Somethings however, are not in good taste at least for the majority of people. I would not watch the film 'Innocence of Muslims', nor would I watch a film that portrayed Jesus in such a way. Blessings.

I'm not either. Instead I'd advice you to watch a documentary movie called Religulous, by Bill Maher. It makes the concept of religion and reality clearer. Its a recommendation for everyone, be it a believer or non-believer. Its okay if someone has faith, but blind faith makes no sense and leads to hatred and violence. Good day!

In my religious life God is Supreme, and is far above simple jokes, wrong, or even blasphemous, and God is the source of all Love in the Universe. God's intellect is so far above human frailties as to make them laughable. In my mind God loves humour, and encourages it, because Humor promotes love which is what a Godly life is all about.

Hello MIMO-Rulz-111 greetings. Not really. Jokes or humor are allowed, so long as the saying goes, "No hitting below the belt".
