How do you secure your home?

There are lots of dangers that can happen at your houses and we must make sure that our houses are secured to be be avail to avoid thieves or bad guys that can enter our houses.Some have dogs,some have guards,some have lots of gates,some put cctv cameras and some just lock their door.When my brother died,my parents decided to put gates around our house.My aunt is laughing at our house,because of having a lot of gates and some of our windows have grills.We have been so scared because of what happened to my brother.That is why we have lots of gate.How about you guys how do you secure your houses?
