Do Your neighbors Burn Things?

I have had a problem with one of the neighbors here burning something for two days now, some firewood possibly. Yesterday, I had some problems breathing with the window open here so mom closed one of them for me and the smell was gone. It was terrible. Today she said she smelled it too so she closed the window right away. I didn't smell it yet as I was in the other room. The weather has been especially nice today though, very sunny and 70ish. I transplanted my 4 month old rose seedling and rearranged dad's irises so that they grow up against the house this year and not just scattered anywhere throughout the gardens like he has had here for over 40 years! I'm trying to redo the gardens here but it is alot of work to a point and my feet and legs were bothering me a great deal today but I got alot done.

Burning things outside is now prohibited now here in our place. Unlike before that lots of people aroud do burn their garbages outside.
An ordinance was made about this burning that could harm our Mother nature.

I don't even know if it is against the law in my area or not. I would probably need to look it up and then find out whose doing it. I know my next door neighbor did it a few times and it was bothersome, her's not alive anymore now though so I'm free of that.

It's against the law to burn anything here where I am. I remember when I was a kid, we had a big burn barrel out in the yard and we'd burn trash once a week. Then the laws were put in place to make it illegal. People complained so much that finally a recycle program was started.

A recycle program was probably more convenient for all. When we get older we tend to notice things like this more, but it had to be a lot for me to smell it anyways. My breathing I think is worse than my dad's at times and he has lung fibrosis. For instance there was this basement we went in to look for treasures (someone's inside garage or estate sale) and there was so much mold in it that I had to go back upstairs, it was bothering me sooo much. But my dad stated and said it wasn't bothering him. Unless he was just saying that and it was bothering him cause he isn't one to complain at all, usually unless something is life threatening. I wondered why they gave me a plastic breathing contraption to use (the one Dr said it was very important that I use it) while I was in the hospital last time for my surgery, I thought it was just a routine thing. Perhaps it was, now I don't even know for sure.

We use to burn a lot of things a few years ago, like paper and wood on a wood burner as we never had enough room in our bins.
Years ago when I was a child loads of people had fires out side burning all garden rubbish and we did all go and warn each other, incase people had their linen out on their washing lines, or their windows open.

hI NailTech, were they buring the firewood inside of the outside.
Please excuse me for being confused, but if they are within the
city limits they are not allowed to burn outside like that..
Yes it seemed like you were very busy today..but like you said
you got a lot done today...Perhaps a nice shower or hot bath
would make those legs and feet feel a whole better...

I'm not even sure if we have a city limits thing like that, I'd have to check on it but I'm guessing we probably don't as I smell it here on occasion but it just happened to be very strong this time or otherwise my nose is getting very sensitive to it all.

It is not unusual for my neighbor to burn trash in the backyard. I have been so used to his burning those dry leaves and whatever else that gives out too much smoke. He does this every morning except when it is raining so I don't bring out the clothes to dry until the smoke is totally gone otherwise all the clothes will smell of smoke. We don't have municipal regulations that ban burning things in the backyard since it is a rural area. Other neighbors don't seem to mind either because he is keeping the environment clean and it would we useless to remind of the negative effects of his actions.

Also, I find once people start up their wood stoves as well. But usually its burning brush, or like my neighbours their fake Christmas tree months later. I remember as a kid *camping* out in the backyard, waking up to this bright bright light. Crawl out the tenet and here is our neighbour throwing in trash, and having it 10 feet high flames.

Hi garden girl..
I am helpless when it's about gardening, totally.
Anyway, I always close all window and door upstair if one of my neighbour is burning something, because if I do not close them my room will smell like smoke. 3 weeks ago there was a fire not too far from my house. For several days afterward a lot of black soot dust from the fire location fluttering in the wind, I had to close the windows and doors so that they do not get into house and cover the floor and furniture. Unfortunately I can not protect the balcony, over the past few days my balcony looks full of dust, despite being cleaned within a few minutes it will full of dust again
