Scared of Mirrors

My cousin slept in last night.Before going to bed she asked me for a blanket. I was surprised because the weather was not cold last night. I asked," what is the blanket for?"
She covered my full-length mirror with a blanket.She told me that she doesn't want to look at mirrors at night especially when it's pitch dark because she's afraid that a reflection or something might appear in it.

I heard from a feng shui experts that mirrors facing the bed is a bad thing. He said mirrors are indeed portals, and we're not sure if the ones passing through this portal is of a good por a bad entity. Now, he further said that the bed where we sleep obviously, is bad to face the mirror, because in sleep we're at our most vulnerable and the state wherein we our subconscious is at its peak.
I am not sure if I believe that or not but I do find mirrors in dark rooms scary. Just imagine, waking up in the middle of the night and finding the mirror in a dark room.

oh really??? My mirror is facing my bed.Like when you open your eyes,you will immediately see my full-length mirror. Would you like to come over and sleep in my room lols!

I'm a coward. I'd rather sleep on your floor lol. I also have a mirror in our bedroom, but it is the kind that sits on wooden "stilts" and swings upward and downward. So when it is bedtime, I just tip it upwards so it is facing the ceiling instead of the bed.

Raine, I know you would answer this question here!lol~cos' I've seen your questions before, about these "superstitious" beliefs.
I also dare not to sleep with the mirror directly facing at my bed, for I've also read that bad luck or "ghost" thing, but since this is not commonly believed in Belle's place, let's just let it be, and don't scare her, lol! No big deal, Belle.

Yeah there is something in mirrors that some people are afraid of it. I am not particularly aware of this fear but I guess your cousin has seen it in movies since I know there are a lot of movies that depict mirrors as a place where some lost souls or entity passes through or peeks through our world.
I do not know how true is this but I realized there are no mirrors in my bedroom just a small one and it is not facing our bed.

i have that kind of feeling too, i do not like looking at mirrors at night especially when it is dark, probably from watching too much horror.

I have tried standing in front of my dresser with a candle at hand when there was a power outage but I didn't see anything lols.
