And now its only half a screen...

So I bought my fiancee a laptop so we can see each other everyday. It actually was one of the cheaper brands, but it was nice. We had finished a conversation and she was ready to go to bed. So, I just was very patient watching her falling asleep. lol So she ended the call and I went about my day as she went to bed. That next morning she woke up and I was already online. She told me that she could only see half the screen, because the other half was black. I asked her what happened and she told me that she fell asleep on the laptop. In doing so, she messed up the LCD. And now its only half a screen... Have you ever had anything like this happen to you? I mean, I really do understand that things happen, and she was just super tired because I saw her nod off a few times. What happened to you and how did you fix it?

She should be careful the things that is given to him from her fiance. It's not a big deal to keep it aside so that it will be safe from her body if incase she can fall asleep without her awareness. But things already happened. I think lots of expert here in our country to fix her laptop.

Sad to hear that. Well, I haven't experienced that problem but I have experienced other problems with my previous laptops/computers. Just like what your fiancee said, I guess there was too much pressure on one side of the lcd of the laptop, and probably caused this problem. I suggest that you bring the laptop from the store you bought it from, because you more likely still have a warranty for your newly purchased laptop.

Yes there is a warranty on it and I asked her to please use it so that it will not cost so much. It should cover all things but I am not sure about human fault, or not...

I turned on my desk top monitor one day and the same thing happened, only half a screen with the rest black... I just turned it back off and headed to the store to buy a new one... With mine, I think it is simply because it was old; I had it for over 10 years before it decided to burn out...

I know how you feel. I asked her to be more careful next time... Hers is only about one month old. I hope that it will last a long time. she still needs to get it fixed and it should be done today.
