Facebook crosses billion threshold, still quests for growth

According to Reuters which was published in Yahoo, Facebook Inc passed the 1 billion user mark in September, a level of global penetration that is both a remarkable achievement for an 8-year-old social network and a heightened challenge to its quest for sustained growth. Facebook, which has endured a bruising four months in the stock market since a haphazard May 18 initial public offering, has acknowledged that a slowdown in new-user acquisition is inevitable as its worldwide reach expands. But doubts over whether the company can squeeze more and more dollars out of each network member - given well-publicized struggles to monetize the growing ranks of users who access Facebook from mobile devices - have shaved more than 40 percent off Facebook's value since its IPO, although shares still trade at a lofty 45 times projected 2012 earnings. What can you say about it? Facebook indeed has a remarkable achievement and I think it is one of the great inventions of our modern generation.

I do feel that they do not know how many people have more than one, two, three or more accounts with face book, plus all the people that were members years ago when it first started to how many still log in. I know people at least five different people that have four accounts, so they can not say for sure how many actually use face book or are single proper id accounts and are not fake id accounts.Alot of my friends have accounts, yet they have not been on face book for well over a year or even more.

I agree with you, cause I myself ever made more then 4 accounts in there. Most of my real friends also have more then 5 accounts. Those who addict with their games and apps usually have more then 3 accounts.
