An annoying noise at night

I live in my apartment from '2005.
For an extended period of time, at night, while I was in bed trying to fall asleep, heard a noise coming from upstairs.
Such noise seemed to be an electric motor that turns on and off at regular intervals.
I never understood what it was really!
The noise was annoying, especially late at night.
I believe that it should claim a hydraulic pump, because I do not know what other electrical appliance it could be.
Luckily now that noise, there's no more!
So I can sleep quietly at night.

well ,that's nice, but i wonder how did you bear all the noise these many years, why didn't you complain to the authorities? Here one of my friend live in an apartment , those people who live there complain to the authorities even if a dog barks more, at night, they feel that its disturbing , so annoying. Hope you have a good sleep from now on wards.

Well, you know, if the noise was a little louder, definitely I wanted to shed light on this case.
However, being a noise that disturbed ok, but overall, it felt as if it came from far away, I never wanted to investigate much, also in order not to create squabbles with the neighborhood.
Let's be clear. However, the reason would be on my side!

you are always right, in my view and that the reasoning will be on your side. Has the noise come down now or it is still continuing. If it is from a far away place --on account of drilling or constructing nothing can be done.
Hope you had your dinner-- at what time you take dinner every day?

it is really annoying to hear a disturbing noise when one wants to sleep. If it can be stopped -please attempt -- go to the next floor owner and find out from him how the sound is coming and whether they can help you in any way. For that we must have excellent relationship with neighbors.
now sleep.

Well, at the moment seems, however, that everything is solved and the noise, now silent!
But you gave me the inspiration in learning how to complain when things go against me!
Thanks for the tips!

I really hate it when there's a lot of noise when i'm sleeping.
As of the moment i'm staying with my friend and we sleep in the same bed. She's insomniac and she sleeps early in the morning. When i'm asleep she would watch a gag show and would laugh noisily, not minding that i might be disturbed in my sleep. It's annoying, but I couldn't complain. So, right now I just want my own apartment.

hi,
that is why i always choose to live far in a highway and squatter areas to avoid noisy at night even daytime, because i tried to lived in a place near in highway and its not easy to sleep in the first day since we transferred because of the horn and machines.
