My Cable Box Is Going Bananas

I have had problems for over a week with my cable box re-booting itself. First, it happened just once or twice a day. But beginning yesterday evening, it began to re-boot non stop.
I can not watch any TV. It just reboots and reboots. I called my cable company and a technician will be coming out Tuesday. They could not give me an earlier appointment.
Has anything like this ever happened to you? I love TV and it bothers me not to be able to watch it. Two of my favorite programs are on this evening. I may be able to watch them on my computer.

That sucks dude.
Happened to me once.
It over heated, so I used compressed air to make sure it was completely clean, and then I put it in the fridge for 20 minutes.
That's what they recommend when funny stuff like that happens to it.
Don't leave it in there for too long though. You wanna cool it off, not really freeze anything. But 20 - 30 min should be fine.

The technician came out on Tuesday and brought me a new box. It could be that one of the problems was that I had my TV sitting on top of my cable box but that is how the technician previously set it up. It was not my doing. Now my cable box is next to my TV.
Thanks for the info but if I unhooked my cable box from my TV, I probably would not be able to connect it again. I am not tech or electronically savvy.

Ugh sooo annoying! And I hate when they have to send techs out because it takes them forever and they never show up on time. My cable and internet constantly has hiccups in it. You'll be in the middle of a show and a message will come up saying "picture cannot be displayed" and the computers are constantly losing connection, even the wired ones. I never had this problem with my last internet and cable company, I'm thinking about switching back because the service i have now sucks!

It is very annoying. In fact it is driving me crazy. I pay a lot of money every month for my cable service. I reported this problem on Saturday evening but they can not send a tech until Tuesday afternoon. I do not consider that good service and I am hoping that they will credit my account for the days that i was not able to get TV service.

I have Time Warner also and my husband was on the phone for what seemed like hours trying to solve our problems. He told me it would have been faster to just take the box back and get another one, then call them. The problem is the short hours they are open in the city we now live in. You would think with the amount we are paying that we would have better service.

I am a 67 year old woman with a slipped disc and leg and foot problems who does not drive. Time Warner is a short bus ride from my house but I would have to walk several blocks to even get to the bus stop. I also am not tech or electronically savvy. I would have a lot of trouble hooking up the new box and even then, we are not sure it is just the cable box. It could be more like a cable.
I pay $170 every month and I think that this is terrible service. They are very eager to get you to become a customer by promising you the moon but just wait until something does not work right. And it is just a matter of time.

My bill is close to yours and I thought nobody else could end up paying so much to find we have poor service and the companies customer service isn't good. The bad part is we don't have a good solution now. I enjoy watching television and some shows aren't available online.

$170 is way too much money for what I get. It is not completely Time Warner's fault though because a chunk of that money is for taxes and fees. But I do love my TV and that $170 includes my internet and land line.
The tech came out on Tuesday and fixed me up. I am glad to have my TV up and running.
I have HBO which I love but I am still paying too much. I think that $125 total would be a fair cost.
