I really appreciate the innovation in our office that deals with the giving of a commendation to the best employee. During the last part of one of our meetings, ranking of the field personnel was flashed on the screen. The performance evaluation was based on the criteria of the quantity and timeliness of the reports submitted. What caught my attention is that one employee who were not performing well on the prior months was awarded as the top performer on the month of September. Since we were not around for the last 5 months, we did not know much of what happened to our office. This employee told us that he was actually at the bottom of the list on the previous months and he really tried his best to perform well on this month. I concluded therefore that if we really work hard on something, we will surely able to reach our goal. I just hope that he continuously performs well on the days to come. Not only because of the recognition but also because he really needs to do it in line with the service. How about you my dear friends, how does you office evaluate the performance of its employees? Does your office also give a commendation or an award to those who are outstanding in their performance? You may share you own experiences. Have a nice day!

Wow so nice for your office...I really hoped and pray that our office will already implement the giving of incentives to those employees who meet the prescribed quota set in every jobs. We are actually a BPO company and quality and quantity in every work that we do is a must in order to satisfy our clients. So with it, giving incentives to employees who excel in their jobs is a nice one and should be done now.

Hi aabuda! I'm sure your company will really excel on its field if they have a dedicated employee like you. If I am not mistaken, companies are open to suggestions coming from clients and also from their employees. You could try making a suggestion on this part. But of course if you will be offering suggestions, be sure that you are ready with the details as they might ask you to present it with them for scrutiny. Thank you for sharing!

This is one of the best way to encourage employees to work and do their best. Appreciation/Commendation will not only encourage but also boost confidence. Besides, a little appreciation to deserving employees will benefit the company the most because everyone will work at their best.

Hi jaiho! Yes that is true, I also observed this thing even I just came in after a long training. Well, I hope everybody will perform well in their jobs even in without those awards. And those rewards or incentives can be given to everybody.

At our company reviews are done every 6 months and would result in a slight raise if everything goes ok. I agree with you on the motivation aspect, large companies have that ability to really reward hard work. The thing that strikes me is a person can suck for a whole 6 months and then all of a sudden they perform to get a reward. Does your company look into things monthly or also long term?

Hi teamcholent! Actually, this activity is just starting and our office is still assessing the outcome of the program. Hopefully, this thing will continue in a long run. Actually, it has no monetary value as of the moment but it can be used for promotion. Thank you for sharing!

Our office do monitor the performance of employees bi-annually. But in my opinion, they aren't accurate as I've seen some who are not really performing well but getting a good rating while there are some who works hard but has lower rating.

Hi paper doll! There maybe some inaccuracy but this can probably be resolved by going back into the guidelines. But over all having this kind of evaluation can be a good action so that the employees will work better. This evaluation scheme can also be done back to back with a punishment to those who does not perform well. Thank you for sharing!

In my previous work, performances were rewarded differently every year. Those who were never late were given bonuses but it has to be continuous for the pay period, otherwise they have to start all over again. Also, trips abroad were given. This one I was able to qualify and we went to Hong Kong all expenses paid plus pocket money except for the fees in applying for our own passports. Other times, it comes in the form of electronic gadgets like new cellphones or camera. Our evaluation is 360 degrees; an evaluation from the immediate superior, from the subordinates then from peers or customers. Then those who will really qualify are also evaluated through a panel. Once approved, the performing employee gets his or her just reward.
