Position of staircase

As an astrologer myself, I always honor the ‘Vastu-Shastra’ tips; they are certainly helpful. According to the principles of Vastu- Shastra the staircase can be constructed in any direction except North-East. If in some old house, the staircase is in the North-East, then a room should be constructed in South-East to lessen its ill-effects. My old house had stair case in the North- East, so to lessen its ill effects I made a room in the South-East. The home feels more peaceful now. Do you have faith on ancient sciences like; Vastu, Fengshui (Rules in Chinese philosophy that govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to patterns of yin and yang and the flow of energy (qi); the favorable or unfavorable effects are taken into consideration in designing and siting buildings and graves and furniture.) The people (neighbors) who used to quarrel very frequently seem cool now. In which direction you have your staircase? Please share your views and comments on this. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead. October 21, 2012

No it is nonsense, with no hard evidence to support it, whatever it is, it is not science. The best place for a staircase is dictated by room layout all the best, urban

The rich Chinese people pays a lot of money for Fengshui. My mother believe that the house should be facing the east because it is lucky. I am not a believer nor a non believer, but I have an open mind about this belief. We have three stairs in the house, the first one is east-south, the second one is east-north and the last one is west. Can you tell me professor, what Vastu-Shastra has to say about them. Thanks.

As I have said--'According to the principles of Vastu- Shastra the staircase can be constructed in any direction except North-East.'; you have one there, if there is space, make a small room as I have said.

Prof, Just for clarification, Is EAST - NORTH the same as NORTH - EAST in Vastu-Shastra? Thanks!

I borrowed a book on vastu from the library to see what is it all about and whether it has any similarity with the Chinese fengshui. The tbasic is quite similar but there are other areas which are contradicting. The chinese fengshui believe that the money plant is good to have in the house while the vastu said that it not good to place any money plant in or outside one home. It is also against any kind of creeping plants. Since I have planted beautiful creepersI am now a little confuse to the effects of the plant in my new house. Before I moved in to my new house I changed the position of my main door from south west to facing west. Everybody is saying it is not good fengshui. That is when i start to take keen interest about fengshui. Maybe you can help me on the right position of the main door.

Opinions differ dear Zandi Some say you should never buy a money plant, if some one gifts' it then good; but none may give as gift, well one can steal it, and it may turnout to be lucky

hi Professor I had not thought much of it but here where I am staying at GoldCrest one end has a staircase north east the other end of the building has south west stair case. of course mos of us use onf of the elevators as I have to use a walker. but back as year when my roommate was ill with shingle smyroommate was quarantined and they m ade me live on the n ortheast side in a room with Mary Lackey who was a odd woman with mental hangups. the whole atmosphere on that end was of upset. roommates wo uld quarrel and just a general off b eat feeling., when they let me back in my room on the southwest corner of t he building it was so much mpre peaceful,. Everyone living on that end were friendly and peaceful. So I feel there is some merit tn that idea.

Hi Professor, That kind of stuff isn't part of my religion, so I know nothing about it. I have heard of Feng Shui, but I don't put any belief in it's effects. I do however believe in the placebo effect. I respect one's belief in all things, even if I don't take any stock in them. I have beliefs that others might not believe in, so I can honestly respect the beliefs of others. I know that people living in the eastern part of the world believe a lot of things that people in the west don't. Some do, but most don't. I don't even know my directions.. I can't tell east from west and north from south unless I have a compas. I know the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so I can tell that way.. but if the sun is at noon, right straight overhead, I'm SOL.
