Violence begets violence?

Yes it does..So people should not be violent against people who are violent to them.. since it will be an unending cycle.. and both parties will never be at peace.
But most of us grew up with this belief, "when someone hits you, hit them back harder.." Even i did this before. But then i am thinking of not doing it in the future.. i will try my best..

It is very hard to stay calm and not let the energy of the moment over power us. It is very immature of us to take on the "when someone hits you, hit them back harder.." attitude. I think this is a normal reaction but not the best reaction. I would think first before I strike back.
