first impressions can really create a scene

a man walks into a store and the manager of the store rushes out of his cubicle to welcome him. the man seems surprised. the store frets over him, at the heels of the manager, waiting for him to pick an item from the store. when the man starts to leave, the manager is disappointed. he sighs. the man did not have as much money as he thought; he was just a driver to a millionaire who came to ask for some items in the store.
first impressions can really create an impression. the driver by the way drove in with a rolls-royce. see what i mean!

Well, if we let our eyes see the beauty and importance of a person then really first impression can do some scene unexpected. These type of person you see's only visually are sure going to fall. There is a saying, don't judge the book by its cover. You have to explore it and read it. It apply to all,..we must be always alert and cautious on everyone we hardly know.

First impressions for good or for bad are something that can really leave a lasting impression. And really, it can cause people to become a right bundle of nerves. Because there are some individuals who will be on edge to make the right first impression, therefore they are going to be utterly afraid to say or do anything or come across as bad in any way. Is that any way to really live your life?
Of course, it is amusing where people try and make a good first impression and end up overcompensating to the point where you are almost suspicious of what they want. I’ve tried to get out of the habit personally of judging people on the first impressions that they make. Rather, I try and allow themselves to prove themselves and what kind of people they are over time. Of course, many will disagree. You only get one chance to make that one impression, and you could be branded for life. It’s unfair, but it’s just how things go.

Well it depends. We should not judge people at first. Besides, people change. And we shouldn't stick on our first impression right then. :)

if i may add something to your thread, because we can be wrong when judging people on first impressions, we should always give them the benefit of the doubt. i usually try to ask myself why something does not ring true to me and why i should refuse to be associated with it i.e i try to understand my biases when making first impressions because i could be negatively biased and the subject in point could help me in life.

which is wrong because we all cannot meet standards. if i could be able to pass the standards for say, mylot, and fail that of postloop, does it mean that my self-esteem is at stake? nope. standards are created by imperfect beings like you and i, are subjective and can always change. so, do not feel bad if you did not meet some standards; it is just that you do not have what it takes at that point in time.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well that was indeed a funny incident and i m sure the shop owner would have been surprised and shocked after this entire episode. I think u are absolutely right that first impressions can create a scene at times because we have this habit of coming back to the conclusion the moment we see something at the first instant and this can be dangerous for us and might lead to confusions and misunderstandings in the long run.
What say?
