I got a call from another place for the guy I had gotten a call for before. I don't know if I mentioned this then but I do work with / worked with (not sure if he still works there) a guy who shares this person's same first name atleast.
So I am wondering if perhaps he got my phone number and decided to use it? I've had this phone number for awhile, with only maybe a six month period between having it and not. Since I was able to get the same number I had before though, I imagine that my number was never used for someone else.
So that being said, either this person had my phone number YEARS ago(atleast three) or it could be my co-worker / ex coworker.
I am not sure, but if I can find out the guy's last name that I worked with, I will see. Though now that I think about it they pronounced it a little different from what he pronounes his as... so who knows?
I was able to take care of the mis-call this time more quickly of which I am glad. I just called them back and told them I know noone with that name and I am obviously not that person. They checked and the number was supposed to be taken out of the system, apparently it had not been.

I would be careful. Lots of weirdos out there. I had a number before the one I have now that caused me some problems. I kept getting calls for this other lady. Bill collectors. And they all thought I was her and some were more obnoxious than others. I finally got the number changed.

Bill collectors can be the worst. They are trained to be as obnoxious as possible I think, becuase apparently bullying works. Though if you told them flat out you are not who they think you are, they should have left it at that!.

It is my cellphone and it is through a prepaid company so I am not sure that they would be able to gather that information.

Yes and I think it's more common with companies that have prepaid cellphone services. There are only so many numbers to sequence together afterall. I know that some cellphones will give you basic info or help you to block a number, but since my company is prepaid (though advanced prepaid really) I don't think they could.

Grrr. I hate that. I have gotten calls from people looking for my former daughter in laws younger brother. Oh, and the police have been here for him and one time for her. My son has a different last name than I use so someone would have had to have given it out as a contact number. I hate that. I hope you get your issues taken care of in regard to the phone calls.

For me, now I just give out my cellphone number as a means to contact. In this regard people will only call this number anymore and nothing else for me.
Sometimes even telling the people looking for that person "Hey look they don't live here anymore." They don't listen, they don't put it in a report so that the company won't call back...

I would be so annoyed with this myself. I use to get this in college, except that I knew they were always drunk. The person could of had a number a few numbers off from yours. I know mine and my sisters is the same number except a 5 and 2 difference, also my Dads being 1 and 5 number difference. We tend to have people calling for each other making a simple mistake.

I am not sure but yesterday I got a call again but not sure if it's for this guy or not. When I tried to call back it said something like no one is available at the moment. It wasn't an answering machine but more like an automated message for a business. It is annoying.

I remember in college this number kept calling me, saying I won a free cruise. They would call constantly, it got to the point where I would call my cell phone carrier and block them.
I hope they stop I know how annoying it is, even if you dont answer it. But having to pick up the phone and look at the number.

Ask the guy about how he had got your number and where he is speaking from. Thus you may trace him.

Everytime I get a call from a company I try to find out to whom they are trying to reach and what company. As for how the person may have got my number, if it is who it may be, then I know exactly how.
