I was a sorority girl during my college life. It's one of the best experiences in my life. We sponsored several outreach programs, dance events, quiz contests, and other fund-raising activities. It's fun to wear my sorority shirt while at the university, to share secret handshakes, to hang out at our designated area in the campus. Are there any sorority girls out there in myLot? I would love to know your unforgettable experiences with your sorority during college. Fraternity members are also welcome to post their experiences. :)

College sororities as well as fraternities, regardless of the negative impression people have on them, are really great organizations to be a member of. True, there are some that probably have parties and stuff more than anything else, but most are still cause-oriented groups doing outreach programs and other charitable works. Well, I'm referring only to Greek-letter societies here in our country. I'm not sure how the fraternity/sorority system works in other places. And yes, I'm a member of a fraternity, well, obviously

Thanks for the response. :) yes, it's great to be a member of a sorority or a fraternity. It is fun to mix charitable works and parties. Being a sorority girl is one of the best things that happened to me. I learned a lot about life and leadership during my sorority days.

I think most sororities and fraternities here inculcate in their members how to be leaders in their respective fields, which is a great thing. Actually, a lot of our lawmakers and cabinet secretaries are also members of fraternities and sororities. It's too bad though that there are some who had put us in a bad light by doing stupid things.

Don't know if I've mentioned this to you in the past, but I was a member of a fraternity back in university. And I could definitely see the appeal of being a member specially when the (our) goal was helping out other people. And back to your discussion about leadership, I too headed my fraternity back in the day.

Hey Bounce, thanks for the response. :) I don't remember thay you've mentioned it before, that you're a member of a fraternity. :) so you've been a head of your fraternity too, right? I guess it is harder, compared to being head of a sorority. I'm sure you've had difficult problems, especially rumbles. :D

I never think of joining such brotherhood, it is not where I belong. It should not be in that kind of set up, I can have friends in a certain club or association, but fraternity it is a big NO.

Good fraternity, but in recent years, like charitable fraternity, fraternity expenses spent to cobble together than charitable under even higher.

I am not so familiar with the in and outs of a sorority but if your experience is the norm in such a group as this then I think sorority is good. However, there are so many negative impressions when sorority is mentioned because of inappropriate activities such a group were involved recently. If I will call the Christian group a sorority, then I would say this is the best and second to none.
