Oh, my gosh last night was a terrible night! I must have had a 24 hour flu bug. I had stomach cramps and diarrhea last night along with nausea and throwing up. I was sitting on the toilet doing my "thing" there and needing to throw up, luckily it was just the dry heaves. Hate that when you have diarrhea and have to throw up at the same time! Has this happened to anyone of you out there? Because usually when I have to throw up I use the toilet, but couldn't use the toilet since I was sitting on it! Hope this doesn't offend anyone and I'm sorry if I did!

Oh yeah, been there. That's when you put a trash can in front of you while you're sitting.

And what's really bad is you have to throw up and do so in the toilet when the other urge hits you and you have to do a quick turn-around. That's when you hope you don't miss.

Usually I do not get the stomach virus, or if I do it is not to the same extent that it hits other people. I have some friends around here who have been having this or similar problem. I am good, no problem so far. Ginger ale is very good to settle the stomach or ginger tea. Sports drinks, diluted, are a good help to rehydrate. So is gelatin dissolved in extra water and sipped helps stop the diarrhea. Do not drink red jello or gatorade because it looks kind of like blood when it comes out.

I remember my mom giving me warm jello when I was a kid. My favorite part of being sick...

hi Stoutjodee oh yes my son and I both had it and at least at that time we each had our own bath room. I am a diabetic so that did a real number on my blood sugar. I had the waste basket in front of me as I sat on the toilet. oh that was a bad four days as neither of us could leave to go to the store for toilet paper so we used any thing that was paper like paper towels lol. Hope you feel better soon.its really so hard on a person, Hope I never get that again myself.

Oh, y gosh that sounds horrible! Hope you're feeling better and that your BS is doing all right! Oh, bet the "butt" is sore, I know I've had to use paper towels before and they weren't very soft! Thanks for joining in this discussion!

Small bathrooms are advantageous in that the bathtub is often within reach of the toilet! I do hope you are feeling better now.

No thank goodness I have not had anything like that at the same time. I hope you get back some fluids in your system so you don't get dehydrated. Take good care and hope you feel better soon. I just hate to be that sick, it kills me and there aren't to many people here to help me like I need the help sometimes.

Thank-you , my friend for the concern. I am feeling better today. Worn out but am drinking plenty of liquids and taking it easy! Wish I could be there for you when you're sick! I hate the throwing up part and I will myself not to, but I get the dry heaves. I'm definitely really sick when I actually vomit. Thanks for joining in on this discussion!

Yikes! Well I'm glad you're feeling better. I myself have been sick for a few days and I've been on the internet a lot because I've been stuck home in bed and have a hard time sleeping. Being sick sure isn't fun. Especially for me this weekend with all the great Halloween parties I missed. Halloween isn't until Wednesday however nobody throws a party on a Wednesday. Also I doubt I'll have tick or treaters and if I do then I'd feel like I was handing out germs in a bowl. Anyways its that time of year where everyone gets sick I guess. Oh well find yourself a good multivitamin and hope for the best for the remainder of the cold and flu season.

Nothing like the whole coming out both ends syndrome. I think we as adults can handle it fairly well. My favorite(insert sarcasm here) is when my kids get this problem. My 12 year old is not so bad about it, but try explaining to a 5 year old how to manage both at the same time. I trust you are feeling better today?

That has only happen to me once. I had eaten a Cousin sub and some corn curls. All a sudden I had to throw up and poop! Luckily I had a bucket to throw up in! It is used to keep the door open! It sure was not fun! I was sick for three days! I was not happy! Since then I will not eat Cousin Subs because of getting sick! Yuck! That is my story!

oh no poor Jodee hope you are better now and hope that flu bug is out of your system again. The last time I was that badly off was when I was a kid thankfully it never happened to me again.
