How realistic is House?

You know how hilarious are those CSI shows when it comes to computer technology. Silly things like 1000x enhancing some low quality camera footage to see a reflection of a killer in someone's eye or creating a GUI interface using Visual Basic to track a killer's IP address. If you know anything about technology, you can't take the show seriously. So I was wondering if it's similar with House. It's a great series. But do you think that writers do a good job researching? Do they get things wrong sometimes? Are the real doctors laughing their a$s off while watching the show?

Lol I'm actually in the middle of watching this series now. I love it and find it entertaining but I do always wonder how accurate the medical aspects of the show are. I'm sure there's either a doctor that works with the show or some sort of researcher to make things from the show somewhat accurate. But I'm sure they do miss a few things and real-life doctors probably catch on to it. And I always find it funny how some shows will take a fuzzy camera footage and zoom in to find some tiny, minuscule detail that we would never be able to do in real life. There was a scene in Taken where he takes a picture from his daughter's cell phone and zooms in on a reflection of the guy taking the picture. I think there are people in real life who are trained to do this sort of stuff, but I highly doubt they're able to take some fuzzy camera footage, zoom way in, and find a clear image of something lol.

House writers need to get really creative because there are always some very unusual cases. I always find it funny how doctors break into someone's house, acting like a detectives and searching for clues. But that's what makes the show cool. That scene in Taken is very plausible and one of the few where they got it right.

In Taken the picture was taken on a dinky little flip phone that wouldn't have great photo resolution in real life. I just didn't think it seemed realistic they could zoom in 20 times and still have a clear picture. As far as other technology in tv shows and movies go, maybe some of it really can work. I have an iphone, laptop, ipad, etc. but I'm not a real "techie" person and there's tons of gadgets I don't even know exist or know how to work lol. So maybe there are things that are realistic and I just don't realize it because I'm unfamiliar with the technology.

Don't get me wrong I love House because he's an a**. but then you sometimes get the creeping feeling that its an exaggeration x10. Hey, how many people knows medical stuff to its complexity, but hey we mundane people were just like, 'oh ok.' I don't dig the medical cho-cho stuff just the a**ness of House and the miserable state of his staff. haha! Just go watch Fringe and you will get the full absurdity of cutting edge science.

I really enjoyed the show, which no longer has new episodes in the United States. The show did have doctors looking at the scripts and the last shows they interviewed the cast and the writers of the show. I really liked how they cleared up a lot of things that happened on the show. I won;t give away what happened or how the show ended.

It seems a little far fetched to have a whole team of doctors taking care of only 1 patient. Who pays the bills? And it almost always seems they guess wrong and almost kill the patient before they solve the case, when they solve the case. (At least they didn't show every patient being cured.) Toward the end of the run of the show I thought the writers did get a bit tired. Although not a doctor, it sounded like aome of the suggested incorrrect causes were being recycled too often.

I dunno but I read somewhere that the episodes and the conditions are based on real patients and situations. I guess they have to since most of the time, they are using medical jargon and they (especially our Dr. House) can't solve the case. In addition, they might have to pay doctors for medical knowledge and expertise. I believe that the conditions presented are real but of course, a lot of creative and artistic content is mixed in as well.

I've actually heard that doctors say that of course not every detail is right, but it's exceptionally authentic, well, compared to other shows. There is a really serious and thorough medical expert staff working on the show, too, as I heard.

Those shows are all written by great writers. Im sure they have investigated everything in those shows. I feel most are pretty good.

Am not a doctor, not even a registered nurse (I stopped in the last year cause I didn't like the attitude of most nurses and the hierarchy) and yet I am laughing my *** off. But frankly, I never watch all those series. They are way too far from reality.
