Just a coicidence or...not?

Well, I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not but ever since the ending of the hurricane (Sandy) in the states here now I have woken up today with no painful "upper body area" (too personal to say where exactly ) in the morning. That had been going on for about three weeks a least, but I never told anyone about it hoping it would dissipate on it's own. Then today I noticed I woke up pain-free in that area which was wonderful!! Sometimes the pain was unbearable. I'm not sure if that was trying to tell me something. As if there was really bad weather of some sort coming that was related to it or what but it was sure out of the ordinary for me and usually it just went away after I got in the mornings too. Do you think was weather related to the hurricane as well or just think it's a coincidence? Do you ever get pain like that for weeks before a bad storm or catastrophe even and then when it leaves the pain also does as well? I have some health problems so it could have been related to that too but still, the timing is kind of freaky when it stopped hurting today. I hope to wake up without the pain tomorrow too.

I have same experience with you. In night before I sleep, I got stomach pain. It very badly and in that night, rain and storm came with horrible sound. Very horrible situation. But I try to get sleep cause my stomach has terrible condition too. And, I don't know why, tomorrow morning when I woke up, my stomach pain has gone, is it coincidence to?

That might have been nerves perhaps knowing the storm was there. I am talking about over 2 weeks of pain before the hurricane came, not in constant pain but in the morning when I first wake up for a few minutes or so. Then after Sandy is gone the pain is as well. Something just odd.

I've known a few people who have swear whenever a storm is about to hit they feel pain. Most of the time the people I know who complain of this problem are rather old and suffer from arthritis. It could be just a coincidence or maybe it was the weather. Stranger things have happened. If you're curious I'd just wait til the next storm hits and see if it happens again.

Yes to some degree I have as well, but this time it was so different and the catastrophe was so different as well, much worse than other weather scenerios. Yes, i wil wait and see what happens before the next storm.

It could be. I don't have problems like that that I've noticed, but my daughter can't sleep and gets so tense just before a storm that her shoulders ache. We can tell a storm is coming a week before it gets here. It's a good thing we don't have many. I hope you wake up without the pain tomorrow, too!

The symtoms your daughter experiences could be due to the storm, you're a good mother for recognizing it and not ridiculing like my mother would have done. i don;t tell her about half of my ailments unless absolutely necessary. She ridicules me if i have a blanket on me in the colder months as well, in the house. Anyways I'm glad you don't have many storms cause them your daughter would be in pain alot more often. Thanks for the well wishes, they seemed to have worked, no pain there anymore!

I think its a coincidence. Could it have been a kidney stone and you passed it? Or were you stressed and feeling it? I used to get bad stomache and lower abdomen aches that would go away when the stress did.

Possibly but an odd one though. It could be either way. No kidney stone up there. I am always stressed and have been even more stressed now in fact than then.

HI, NailTech! It isn't normal to be feeling that way and it would be much better if you seek medical advice. I don't think there is any connection with a coming storm or other catastrophe unless you have a given talent for predicting such. But seriously, just see a doctor and know what could be causing the pain.

Hi Jenny! I am feeling better now, after I wrote that discussion it all stopped so I guess it would be futile to go to the dr now anyways. I never thought I had any talent for predicting a catastrophe but next time will pay more attention to a pain and see what happens if anythng. Thanks for the advice though.

Your pain may have been caused by the weather, some thing to do with barometric pressure or something. Or you could be like me, sometimes I have feelings some thing is going to happen. I guess there are some people (including my husband and his mom) that have these feelings and know what is going to happen. Sort of like premonitions.

I have heard of that baronmetric pressure thing before. I have feelings something is going to happen as well, not phychic but premonitions once in a great while though. Usually not in the form of pain unless it's more arthritic.

I think a lot of times we get warnings but have no idea what they mean. I know people with arthritis can tell if it's going to rain or snow. I can tell with sinuses that it's going to rain. If your pain comes back, I'm thinking maybe you should get it checked out by a doctor. There are so many things it could be besides weather.

Sometimes pressure in the air causes different problems with people. When it's cold and damp, a lot of people experience pain in their joints. I know people who have arthritis that hate it when it's going to rain and I think it deals with the pressure from storms. Other people might feel pressure in the head which tends to be a sinus headache..very painful. I used to get these when I was younger, and still get them once in a while even when the storms were hundreds of miles away. I guess you can relate your problem to this, but I would really check with a doctor to make sure nothing in particular is wrong, especially if it's that painful.

I have had that with arthritis before too but in this case the location of the pain was leading me to beleive it was something else. perhaps you can get arthritis in alot of other body parts and areas not well known. I know my grandmother had arthritis of the back or something to that nature. I get those headaches too but other times as well, not only before the rain. I have not felt any pain since I last wrote this discussion so I guess i wouldn't have to consult with a doctor now.
