When the advent of touch screen phone technology hit the mainstream, more and more knock-off/fake phones rises and doubles their production to fool and retail to the consumer market.
It was sad that most people thought they were buying a branded phone but not knowing that those were fake ones.
Luckily with the android technology hitting the market, more cellphone manufacturers are making good but affordable brands to cater to the budget friendly market. Some brands over the Philippines such as MYPHONE, Cherry Mobile, Torque, O+Plus are some good affordable cellular phone brands that is hitting mainstream.
Although these brands are not known from other countries, it is worth the money you are investing for the reason that it is:
1. Not a rip-off fake phone - this means that it has decent and not cheaply made parts that when you accidentally throw it, it won't break easily.
2. It has some cool unique features such as Android Operating System, where you can browse the internet, and download android apps.
3. It has Warranty and Technical Support - Unlike a knock-off fake phones, they come with warranty seal and has technical support if you have experienced problems with your phone this means, that when something goes wrong you can hand the phone back to its store and have it fix in not time.
Good thing that despite these phones are not known, they are good phones to purchase because they are real and not fake.

I had seen there there are some branded phones which comes under the category of china phones. Now a days they are giving out the best products with a guaranty for a limited period and with that they adopt new software android applications, which the people could meet their needs.
The problem with these phones are when there is any problem with the phones after guaranty period it is very difficult to get them repaired. They mechanics pay a high cost for repairing it but there are some phones which lats for a long time.
Owning such phones are quite risky. Sometimes if you are too lucky you will get the best or you will win the bad one. It's all about the luck.

You have a point there, Yes some of these brands are tricky when it comes to the due date of its warranty period however comparing it on knock-off phones which you can buy at bargain shops it's much more reliable buying a non-famous brand phones because they have a warranty seal on it unlike fake phones where some stores don't give any warranty assurance it's like you are buying something which is disposal.
Yes, buying some of these phones might be risky but it's worth the cheap money you invest. after all, it's cheap and people don't want to spend more on something.

knock-off phones might be cheap, but the cost might start to build up when you go for repairs and maintenance. i try to buy only branded phones, and if i do not have the money, i buy phones that have warranty and technical support but which origin are suspect. they are sometimes good phones but are not replacements for the original brands.
we do not all have the money we need, heaytheblogger; everyone tries to make do. stay clear of fake phones.

I guess there was something good that resulted from fake phones. Legitimate manufacturers started making affordable phones. I think these really lessened the proliferation of fake phones. Even the big cell phone makers like Nokia had come up with cheaper phones, although not yet as cheap as the ones you've mentioned. Is O+Plus a Filipino brand? I know Myphone, Torque and Cherry Mobile are Filipino brands.

Thank you for pointing out. I'm not really sure if O+plus is a Filipino brand, however, they are promoting it in Philippine Media most especially on Noontime show Eat Bulaga probably they tied up with the Philippine Market. But they are good Android Phones.

The advantage of having cheap phone brands is that your worries will be lesser from the criminals outside while you are riding a jeep. I have my Blackberry but I am not using it since I am always in commute by riding MRT and jeep. Instead I am only using the old model of Samsung. I have my cherry mobile though I haven't change the broken charger of it that is why I am not using it. I just like the idea of having the dual sim.

I agree to that! Most young professional opted to buy this types of Phones as their second cellphones so that when they are on public transport they can easily browse their phones on public places without the fear that they will be robbed by pick pockets. Because it's fairly cheap some who buys those types of phones don't feel down when they are lost because it can be easily replaced.

Yeah, good thing that there are cheaper phones that has quality made. Days before Myphone and Cherry mobile came, there are cpoycat phones bought in divi. I don't know if they came from china, bad thing is that e you buy from these, it has no warranty. It destroys easily for it has no quality. I remember my son buying this from his piggy bank and my heart broke when it was not repairable after two months.
My phone brand is better than Cherry mobile. Sorry, but I have compared the two. Myphone is repairable too unlike Cherry Mobile. A technician told me that it has no or the parts are higher.
Nowadys, becuse of cheaper cellphone, almost anybody can buy it with quality.

Yes, i agree MYPHONE is more enhanced compared to Cherry Mobile however they both have good functionality and for the price. Both are good in that area of retail.
Having this types of brands are good ways to eliminate the rate of counterfeit phones.

I am glad there are cheaper brands of cellphone nowadays which are of good quality. I was not aware of it at first. My daughter actually asked me to buy her a cellphone with an e-book. I told her, that could be very expensive. But she told me that was only P2,000 ($50).

Since most of this types of brands are now enabled with Android OS technology, it is no doubt that they function with a lot of things.

That's true. Some of my office mates have cherry mobile phones and they are at par with the Android phones too. They are cheap.
I just don't know if they can still be reparable when they have some problems.
But as to functionality, they can be comparable to other branded phones.

Yes, i agree with you. People buy this types of brands for the reason that they are really affordable. and the functionality of it can be compared to other top brands. I just don't know about Cherry Mobile if there warranty covers the phone repairs but as i know about MYPHONE they do repair their phones in fact, MYPHONE is affiliated with Sony support so when you have your phone broken the warranty covers the fixing of the phone via sony business centers.

My husband had been a victim when he bought one N-series phone during one of his trips. He thought that he had acquired a big bargain but unfortunately it was not used. After a week it was out of order and when we brought it to the shop for repair, the technician said that he could not assure us that it will work.

Yeah there are so many mobile phones in the market that are cheap, fashionable and showcase good features. My brother used to have Cherry Mobile phone that is still in good running condition right now,its a qwerty type one.
I guess it will depend on the users if the phone will last whether it is cheap or branded. We have to take care of it well so it will last for quite long period of time and the money of buying it is worth it.

I am using a cherry mobile and it looks pretty good. What attracted me to this brand is affordability and the dual-sim feature. Now, I no longer need to carry 2 phones for my smart and globe numbers. This phone serves me well enough because I only need something to use for calling and texting. However, I am looking at those with television, which is quite affordable considering the features it provides. It is a good thing that there are these locally made cell phones sold for less than a thousand bucks with features that you won't hardly expect for something that is so cheap and to think that it has 1 year warranty. I have been duped twice with branded cell phones that were sold for lower prices than the original and I have indeed learned my lesson.

Well yeah, you are very right there when it comes to cheap phone brands. They were made to send text messages and make calls and should be priced low. However, as the phones becomes more and more complicated, they tend to be more and more expensive.

Problem here in mx is getting people to fix them. Most cost to much to fix. better to just buy a new cheap one.
