Hi everyone, For the last few months most accurately 6 to 7 months i have been having headaches at regular intervals but it because of pressure on my eyes and my doctor has advised me that i have pressure and slight power in my eyes so i went ahead and got myself specs and now things have gone back to normal. The weird thing is the type of headache i had during these periods are unlike anything i have ever experienced they were unbearable just like lighting bolts occurring at one side of my head and when they do it was really , really hard for me to sit or do anything. So i went ahead and did some research on headaches, what i found was mind blowing, literally, anyway there are three types of headaches Migraine, Tension headaches and Cluster headaches. Migraine is a throbbing feeling that occurs on one side of the head, mostly around the temple area. Tension headache is the most common of all and it is described by a severe pain around the head, neck or scalp. It is fairly manageable and can be cured. The third and the most disturbing one is the Cluster headache. It is always occurs on one side of the head and its has been noted to the worst pain that a human being can endure, the female patients who have had attacks of this kind noted that the pain was worst than the pain that occurs while giving birth. This revelation has made me a bit self conscious and now i think twice before asking for paracetamol which i would use when the pain is unbearable for me. Now i would like to point out that even headaches are not as easy as you think it is. Please go consult your doctor if you have regular intervals of headaches and the pain can be slight in the beginning but as time proceeds the pain only increase. There are very few records and its still a mystery on how to treat this type of headache. Early treatment can reduce the effect and help us in many ways. Always remember prevention is better than cure and in this case better than immense pain. Take care of yourself.

I experience migraines not so often anymore, unlike when I was a bit younger. It could be really terrible whenever I would have them. I try to endure the pain coz I really do not want taking pills all the time. But when it stays for about 3 days, then that would be the time that I would be needing to take something for the pain. I would be nauseated and would practically be throwing up.

Hi jenny, you knw something, i had these same symptoms few months before as well, but now it has become better. My reason for headache, as i mention in the post, was pressure on my eyes and eye power i guess these things shouldnt be taken lightly and you should check with your doctor, how old are you? in your mid 20s or something like that. If these things continue please check for your eye power. Mostly its because of the stress on our eyes that we get headaches.

I never really got headaches but I do have to wear glasses. I have 2 pairs one for reading and the other for just walking around.

It is a shame about the headaches that you have had. My sister suffers from migraine headaches and vomiting happens at the same time. I think it is hormonal and since in pregnancy she doesn't have these migraines. They can last for many hours and can make her feel extremely ill. Sometimes I suffer a tension headache. I can get a headache after a busy day out. I think I can get a headache if I haven't drunk enough water. I think water to drink and fresh air can help a tension headache. I think a cluster headache sounds horribly painful. I wear daily disposable contact lenses. I have a pair of glasses that I wear when my eyes are too sore for wearing my contact lenses. My disabled son has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. In his head a surgeon fit a shunt to control his hydrocephalus. If he gets a shunt problem it could be life threatening. In that case he would have to go to see a head specialist surgeon. My disabled son often suffers from headaches. When he had headaches, vomiting and a high temperature it was scary for me. I wonder if he will get a shunt problem and if so it will be terrifying.

Thanks a ton for sharing such discussion. Yes u are absolutely right, headaches in any form should never be taken lightly as they are associated with our nervous system and hence needs to be tackled in an intelligent way. I have observed how at times i feel so painful and terrible due to headaches that cannot be put into words. My mother is having migraine and i cannot express how she reacts when she gets this type of headache. It is very painful whenever a headache strikes, it seems as if the world has turned upside down. What say?

I get one when I sit too long gazing into the screen of my computer, like now for instance. It takes the form of a shoulder ache spreading to my neck. Can anyone think of a good name for that?
