Hello Lotters, I've read about an article regarding this country being the best in English proficiency programs. too many compliments to tell, but one thing I agreed on is that we used to be a former US colony for quite a long time. we have a lot of good teachers here that teaches us english. I know because i had experience in call center training programs and english proficiency schools. Then i noticed this user deliberately making a carabao english saying that we are only good at speaking and writing it. however, he says we are not good in math and science to most people. not to mention helping the economy, making formulas and laws that would solve economic problems would take observation and analysis, we don't have much of that he says. turns out, he's bitter because he's an OFW working abroad. well, we are also good in singing, cooking, caregiving, nursing, and other talents too. we are not only talented but also hospitable in general. I think I understand him, he is saying it probably out of frustration to the government and the people who wants to vote for the same useless public servants that has been around for years.

We have lots of talents here in our country. However, most of them just use them for their owns sake and never bothered to use it for the benefit of all. With regards to the government, it is indeed an evident fact that most of our politicians are not really passionate in the duties they made oath to.

Hello kenshin, I agree that we have a lot of talents here in this country. but we are not really that selfish because we offer our victory to the people and inspire them to believe that we can do it. besides, it's not easy to learn english too as you can some asians have trouble learning the language.

Thanks for agreeing with me with regards to us being talented and I do respect your opinion on the things I mentioned about how some people attribute and share their victories.

Hello Asliah, Not to mention most of our schools were strictly speaking in english most known popular to the most of us. It's a bit sad that we have mostly learn english language and not being able to learn more about other languages, even the native tongue is no longer recognized. maybe we should learn other languages too

I get bullied in cyber world because of that topic. I mean all the Filipinos get bullied by being good in English and bad in other things. I accept that, but not all Filipinos have less brain about science because most of our student that are good at it have no jobs, because the government do not support that kind, instead they support BPO companies that is why we are full of Call Center Agents, that is why we are marked "good in English". We have so many nursing grads, but we have less hospitals and to make it worst, those hospitals do not have available jobs for our nurses, so instead those skilled workers like them migrate to other country and most of them are doing great there (hopefully, just assuming). We have lots of skilled people here, but we are lacking in support. I think the problems starts with a students decision to the support of the government. I do not know what is the government's take on what program to support, what jobs to enrich, they should analyze what things they need to improve. Sometimes that things that can help us to become successful is inside our country but because of money and strong power it is neglected. I think we are the ones who are creating this kind of mess after all.

Hello GrecyChunny, yeah that's the problem we are lacking support because the government prefers sacrificing the filipinos abroad making us a sell out commodity to foreign lands and gets abused. well, most filipinos who have no education, but can vote, are usually the ones who made this mess in the first place.

I agree with you, Filipino is really good in English. So no doubt that Philippines is one of the most proficient in speaking and writing english. And one more thing not only english even in other aspect or subjects. Being good in english helps a lot in understanding more science and math. Even talents, name it philippines has it. Singing, dancing and etc.

Hello tinetine, unfortunately not every one or it's not the most popular subject because it's hard to analyze and solve problems, mathematical problems to be exact. well, english language is easily understood and that's why it's mostly spoken by different asian people. singing and dancing is something hard to do and not every one can do it

i admit that filipinos are good in terms of speaking and writing the english language. not just because we are colonized by the americans in the past, but because we are eager and easy learners. i dont agree that we are only good in english, there's a lot of things we are good at like singing, dancing, acting and etc. look at some of the filipino artist being recognized abroad for their talents, thats one proof.

Hello rubrub, Would have been better if the Japanese were good colonizers and tried to teach us Nihongo all those three years. but too bad though, we didn't learn a thing or two there. we can learn other languages but it's gonna take time becaue we have got to know english better and easier. besides, my brother used to study japanese but he didn't pass that.

I think he made that remarks because of his insecurities of not landing a good job here in our country, and instead, he is serving foreign land....not because that he is good in writing and speaking English, not because he is a Math and Science Wizard but because he has skills...

Hello aabunda, yeah it doesn't matter if he has graduated cumlaude if he's going to end up as some worker in the foreign shores. so much for skills, that's the sad part, most of our skilled Filipinos are being lured by foreign companies because of a better job. i am sad of his pessimism but he has point.

I agree that the Philippines has a higher proficiency in English, Letran . One can actually say that when they hear some people who can really speak and write fluent English. Another good example are the call center agents, who after being trained can really speak fluent English and with a corresponding twang in the way they speak. I must agree, that we are not only good in English , but in other aspects as well, specially at singing.

Hello Simplyd, It's not our fault that we have excel and done better in the training compare to other people in the Asian countries. I mean, South Koreans wouldn't want to go to US if were not that good teachers in english. it's not easy to learn it but we were able to do it and we have practice it more

I will admit that being good in English I our strongest point but it is not fair to generalize that because we are good at English, we are good at nothing else. I think that this person is really bitter. We have many talents and we use English to bridge that talent from here to the world. There are many people who are good in math and science but nobody notices them except in the education sector. If proper attention and support can be made people like inventors will probably manufacture and create their invention here rather than selling it abroad.

Hello Jeanneyvonne, I don't know if he is even knowledgeable to understand other things besides filipinos being only good at English. the problem is that some people who are good in math and science either ends up as a teacher, ofw or go to US for further studies. i think one of our greatest invention was sold to the taiwanese, so sad i think.
