Yes! So many reasons. First, you can actually make a little extra money by recycling cans, aluminum, cardboard, etc., by collecting and taking to the nearby recycling center. You won't get rich, but you will make a little money. Second, it's great for the environment. Recycling means less waste.

We certainly don't get rich with recycling but it is an eco-friendly move as it conserves space in the landfills. Can you imagine the buildup of trash in the landfills were it not for recycling? Just to think of all the worn out appliances that will be disposed of not to mention all the stuff we get tired of wearing and using. Oftentimes the clothes which we no longer wear since it is outdated is appreciated by other individuals who are not fortunate enough to afford new ones. Recycling also saves on fuel needed to manufacture new products.

Yes it does. That's funny you should mention old clothes. I am actually helping get coats, blankets, clothes for homeless vets right now.

I don`t recycle to sell, but I reuse whatever comes into my hands. All jars are saved for jams amd preserves to give out for Christmas and for home use during the year. That means giving someone I love a present they love for the price of two pounds of sugar. I have an apricot in my backyard and a couple of flowering prunes in the street. I discovered that the little prunes can be turned into jams, jellies and juices for free. I also buy eggplants, zuchinni and peppers (sweet and hot) and turn them into appetizers that can be kept for a couple of months at least. I give those for birthdays and everyone loves them. I also dry and give out spices and herbs from my garden. That`s when the small jard come in handy. I beg the mothers with babies to save the small jars of baby food. That`s just one of the things I recycle.

Recycling is so awesome. Not so sure why people don't do it other than out of laziness. If I'm not mistaken, Switzerland made international recognition by converting what most people to consider as trash into a reusable fuel. This could benefit the world, yet it likely won't because everyone is thinking about money... In spite of my mindless tangent, definitely do recycle. The possibilities that we can affect the environment through laziness are simply endless..

I know. As I said in another post, we had people that picked it up and took it to the recycling center. It made it more convenient because the center wasn't close, plus it was closed when we got off from work. I thought about starting the business myself.

I am glad you agree. We used to have a service here that would pick up your recyclables but they stopped doing it. It worked great. You had 2 containers, one for plastics, one for glass and paper. They would pick it up once a week.
