update on my current cross stitch project

Psyche's Butterfly - I am still on page one but this is such small stitching (22ct) you have to go a little slower. But the vivid colors keep me wanting to work on it.

As the ones that keep up with me and my crafting. I finally got the last afghan finished and now I am finally back to my first love cross stitch. This is called QS Psyche's Butterfly. I am working this piece on 22ct. So one strand of floss over one hole. Fortunately what I really like about this piece is that it is like a tapestry piece no backstitching no open cloth shown anywhere when finished. I am enjoying working on this piece because the colors are so dramatic. I am placing a current picture of how much I have finished. I am still on page one but it is keeping me intrigued to do more on it as it has such vivid colors. Hope everyone enjoys seeing my progress.

Well, I must say that this is a masterpiece I like crosss stitch but I am personally not good at it. Whereas my mom is very interested in it and also does it quite well. It is one of her hobbies. She has made great cross stitch projects. I am so amazed to see it. You have to be very patient to do the cross stitch.

It is relaxing for me and I live with chronic pain so doing something else to take my mind of it always helps. Thank you for the kind words on my project. I will do another report next week and my friends here can see how far along I have come.

That looks like it will be beautiful once it's finished. That has to be hard on the fingers though to work with such small stitches. I've not cross-stitched for a very long time, my sister was more into that, cross-stitching tree skirts and rugs.

I used to paint ceramics for 25 years as a business, after I had to let the business go, I picked up cross stitch. Sure is a lot easier and cleaner to work on LOL. I will do progress updates. Actually its not hard to work on my husband bought me one of those Ott lights and its amazing how it helps me see the cloth much easier. Thanks for your kind words on my project.

That's a really lovely work Marie. The colours are just wonderful. I've been into making jewellery this year and having a lovely time with it. I'm off to the markets again tomorrow to set up my stall so I should get to bed. The car is packed and ready to go.

It looks like it will be beautiful when it is finished! What will you do with it when it's done? Will it be a gift or is it for you?

Nothing is ever for me always a gift. LOL I am going to give it to my first massage student that worked on me since I have fibromyalgia. She was in a Massage therapy school and we connected so well and she listened when we discussed my aches and pains before starting to massage on me and I taught her as she was giving me my massage. I wanted to make her something and asked what her favorite color was. She said red so I took out to find a pattern that contained the colors she would enjoy. So thats how this piece came into play.

Hello there friend. I hope you still remember me. Good to hear that you are still into your crafts. As for me, I had already stopped. I had acquired an something in my eyes and got myself sunglasses. Anyway, I am glad to hear that all is well to you. I have been around here in myLot almost daily now but I don't see you much. Where was the photo of your unfinished work? I am sure it is beautiful.

Of course I remember my sister!!! I was busy knitting afghans and had to stop coming for a bit. Amy my daughter had another baby and I had to work on blankets back to back. So had to stop working on cross stitch. Now I work it every day. I also still do the 4" squares for a group I volunteer with. But no more afghans for awhile LOL I am sorry to hear about your eyes. I am sure you wanted to finish the piece I sent you. Please take care of yourself and know you are loved!!!

That is a nice craft. I wish I can have the time. I am more on paintings, I made Mona Lisa out of stitching. Every strand of threads made me feel so relax and eager to finish the real craft of mine.
