hi LMB youj know its sort of scary last time i was back in tustin there are fou r empty stores in Larwin Square and my favorite Burger King is now a Mexican food joint of some kind. Our favorite stationary store a two woman operation also closed too.The times are bad as unemployed people just are not buying anything they do not have to have.So the grocery stores remain.Spoons my favorite sugar free yogurt place is closed too. sob.And so more people lost their jobs as more doors closed.Whats going to happen will we ever recover
from this?

from this?

I like Hostess! Or I did... lol. I should have bought twinkies, oh well. I bought ding dongs and orange cupcakes. I think it's lousy that they had to go out of business... I think that was a loss for a stupid reason. People are selling them for big bucks on ebay now. So crazy.

You know, the last time I actually ate a Twinkie, it did not taste like cake to me. It tasted like some kind of synthetic substance. I used to like Twinkie's years ago. Like when I was a kid. I was never a fan of any other Hostess products. But I did love Drakes cakes. It seems that some Drakes products were part of this close down as well. I did hear that some other company or companies might buy the name.

frozen twinkies were the bomb. back when I was 15 I remember going to my best friend's house and we ate frozen twinkies and watched Kevin Costner movies and the two Coreys. Yup....that was teenage heaven lol. Now I have no more twinkies and one Corey is RIP.

You seem to love Hostess product very much .What a fun! At the start,I mistake the Hostess for a TV presenter. How come Hostess , one of the largest wholesale bakers in the United States ,was forced to shut down by a Bakers Union strike?

I came across another discussion yesterday about this. I really had no idea that Hostess may be going out of business. I've never even had a Twinkie lol. I do like some of their other products and I'll be a bit sad if I can't buy them anymore. Maybe another company will buy out Hostess.

I wonder (no pun intended) if those employees are angry with their union. A 100% paycut is certainly worse than a 5% paycut. I don't eat Twinkies, and I don't think I eat many other of their products. But it was always nice to know those Hostess cupcakes were out there if I needed them! If it makes you feel any better, there are these things called Cloud Cakes that are basically the same thing as Twinkies.

I wish I could get out andc buy up those products but somehow I have diabetes and Twinkies and HoHos are not exactly prescribed for me to eat lol lol.Gosh when I was younger
I used to always buy an apple pie almost every day. Could that be why I now have diabetes? lol

I was amazed by the news too. I saw on MSN where a Mexican company was looking at the business but I know that they have their own version of the Twinkie. Submarinos is what they are called. Now they do have variations. Like chocolate cake with strawberry filling.
I am disappointed that Hostess is going out of business though. Another ton of jobs lost. Sad. Oh...and I may create a tiny stash of stuff.

Hiya Sarah,
If they take out apple pies then that is out for me as that is what I love the most. Although I should not eat a lot of it I cannot resist it placed right under my nose unless I am really off colour which I would have to be to not eat apple pie they must keep the apple pie going for me at least anyway.
Forget the French Fries only Apple Pies please.xxx

I can not imagine a world without Hostess. I am sad that another American tradition is biting the dust. As an adult, I do not eat Hostess Products any longer because they are now too sweet for my sweet tooth but as a kid and teenager, I ate Hostess Chocolate Cupcakes every night before bed.My love of Hostess extended into my 20's. My favorite was the chocolate cupcakes but I also liked the pink snowballs. Nothing else would do.
I am glad that I never bought stock in Hostess. Rest in Peace, Hostess.

As a kid growing up in Philly it was Tasty Kake. I didn't taste Hostess until I was about 11 or 12. I didn't like the chocolate cupcakes but I love the Apple pies. They are better than Tasty Kake.
