Spotting for more than a week -- under Depo

Hi women, I'd like to know if any of you experience the same effect of Depo injectables? It's been 2 weeks now, and I still have spotting. I started Depo 2 months ago, and I didn't bleed, until 2 weeks ago. It's just very slow flow, but it's getting inconvenient now, that I have to put on pads whenever I go out of the house, and pantyliners when Im at home. I'm worried that if this goes on longer, I would get rashes on my private area due to the use of pads.

I was getting Depo years ago and honestly, I did not like it at all. I spotted throughout the entire time. Also..just as a warning...are you getting the shot in your arm? If you are and if you don't weigh at least 200 pounds then you are at risk for heart attack. I'm small and I had a specialist show up once when they were about to give me a shot and she got all upset. The only way she would allow it is in my butt! I actually got off of it shortly after that. It just messed with my body way too much.

It seems like a lot of doctors give it in the arm. This one doctor absolutely refused and told me that it was too much of a risk and unless I agreed to have it on the butt then she would not do it. I was on it for about 2 yrs...maybe 3.

Yeah, my doctor didn't even ask me about it. And, she was a very cautious doctor. Perhaps, its only critical for a certain group of women. I mean, those who may have certain family disease or illness. So you were able to endure the side effects that long. I stopped after 4 months.

Well it's not that uncommon for spotting to happen that long. Remember you body is trying to get back to normal after having a baby and it takes it awhile even when you are put on birth control and spotting can be mistaken as a period. My first real period was on birth control and it last almost 2 weeks.

I only had a 7-day menstruation on my first month under pills. But, after 2 more months, I didn't have even some spotting. After I switched to depo, I didn't have menstruation or spotting for the first month. It's just recently, and up until now which is already the 3rd week.
