I have before a women's magazine. There are 364 pages of which I would estimate at least two thirds is advertising. There are no less than four sachets of facecream and two sachets of shampoo and conditioner stuck between the pages. Obviously this is a try before you buy sales technique but I wonder just how many people are taken in by these things. How often I wonder, does the free sample turn into a purchased bottle of cream in your shopping bag.

I think it's pretty unlikely that I'd trot straight out to buy a bottle of something based on a freebie in a magazine, but the next time I were intending to buy a bottle of whatever I'd probably be more likely to buy that brand if I had enjoyed it than I would have done before hand.
Gosh, that was a long sentence! And probably utterly worthless too as I can't remember the last time I bought either a women's magazine or face cream!
why are you reading a women's magazine anyway? Be careful, they are designed to make you worry about your shape.

hi Greemoo and Pikey oh I do not buy those magazines anymore as the last one had foursamples of the strongest scents you could get and I took several whiffs and almost passed out.A quick trip to the ER as I d d not think I was going to make it so the Er doctor told me I was allergic to one or morrr of those very expensive and really strong perfumes samples. An IV of antihistamines and I was breathing normally again.Ao I learned two things do not buy those too e

That is one of the many reasons I don't read women's magazines. I do not like fragrances other than the natural ones outside and it nearly suffocates me when I pick up a magazine like that.
The technique must work because they've been doing it for years! It's great for people that are interested in those things.

Well, speaking for myself, I haven't bought shampoo in years, what with gifts and samples. (I have a drawer full of samples.)

hi pikey Those magazines often give me an allergy attack as they have samples of some of the most expensive and most strong perfumes so when I open the magazine to read it I am already sneezing and my nose is plugging up and my eyes are watering., One thing for sure they made is clear to me I will not be purchasing any of those wild and violent perfumes. The magazine was so heavily scented it seems like iti could walk across the room all by itself. ol
