My little Breanna is now 5 months old, just a few more days to reach half a year. I made her a very small serving of cerelac brown rice and soya variant. She liked it a lot. I made it with more water than powder, because it has to be semi-solid for her first food. Unlike my first daughter, she is very aggressive in taking each spoonful of food. I really enjoy it and I hope this appetite continues until she's big enough to eat real food.

Yay! I'm glad she like the baby food.
I just started last weekend giving my baby JD some baby rice in his bottle just once a day for right now since he is old enough to have it now that he is 3 months old. Another 3 months and then he can have baby food from a jar I plan on staring with apples like I did with my daughter.

Yeah, she likes it a lot and would finish more than 2 spoons. Are you sure you can already give her apples at that age? The doctor said not to give fruits just yet.

Yes I'm very sure. I started my daughter on that when she was 6 months old. It was baby food apple so it's all mushed up.

When my baby turned 6 months, I started giving him steamed food. I started with potatoes. Then I continued with other steamed veggies and fruits, one type of fruit or vegetable every 4 days to check for any allergies or reactions. At first, I was using a blender to puree the food, but as we progressed, I just mashed it with spoon or fork. I have never given him Cerelac though. Sure he has an occasional share of store bought food but all were organic food. He's never tasted (until now) anything like Cerelac though. Well, that's just what I vowed myself to do. It's just my preference :-)
Anyway, it's nice to know your little daughter enjoyed her first taste of solid food. Goodluck in your journey and I hope you can incorporate real food in her solid food too. You can steam in bulk and freeze the remainder. I hope my simple advise would help. :-)

I can try that, thanks. I guess at this age of the baby, we can safely give them food with more texture, right? How many times in a day do you feed your baby with solids?
