Well, Since a year, I've been learning German language. It's quite interesting and I too have a craze for that language. ( In fact every international language)
Learning a new language has always been a great hobby. In my free time, I surf the website called Livemocha.com ( But now, In free time , im on mylot! haha)
(Livemocha is a website that trains you with all the languages in the world, for Free!)
So Far, I know German, a bit of Russian, a bit of Japanese....
But what i am thinking, I'll specialize in one language first, then go to the other. As Germany has got many job opportunities, I guess it would be beneficial learn it. In addition, I could work as a translator there, which i guess would be fun.
Friends, which languages do you speak (Mothertongue) and which International Languages do you wish to learn?

Wow, that is great. Learning different languages is interesting and a learning too. I'm a Filipino and I speak and write Tagalog or Filipino Language. I also speak the international language which is English language. I like to learn Korean, a little bit of French, and Chinese. I think this is good especially if you are going to visit the place someday or do some business with them.
Have a nice day!

hello there.
this is raj..even im learning different foreign languages.
my mother tounge is marathi (indian), i know english, hindi, marathi, now i've started learning spanish and german.
I would suggest you to learn two languages at a time, because when you learn two different languages you would come to know the difference between the two and it would be easier for you to learn and in a faster way..
i would love to interact with you in german as my logic is the same as it has the maximum job opp..besides i can teach you spanish..what say..?

Im from mumbai, goregaon.
I did level 1 and level 2 of german cambridge institute. But now im thinking of doing the rest from maxmuller, as they are recognised worldwide for coaching german language. In addition, they've got german professors too, so you get to know the accent and the exact way of speaking.
Where are u from?

I took Spanish when I was in high school and that's the depth of my foreign language. I did want to learn how to speak Chinese. I still do really. I just think that it would be so hard for me since I am 36, I would have trouble concentrating on it. I do however encourage my children to learn different languages. It opens up so many opportunities for them in their future careers. Plus I think that its important to know what others are saying around you. I think that is just wonderful that you are so into learning all of that. Keep it up!

That's cool! I learned Spanish because it was closer to my dialect, which is Cebuano or Visayan. It was easy to learn Tagalog because it was what was normally shown on local tv. English I learned from reading books and in school. It was English that I like among the dialects/languages I mentioned.

Beyond English I only know a few words and phrases in some other languages. I used to be better at French, but without the opportunity to practice... I'm getting better at Spanish, though it's going slowly because I don't really have the time to work on it.

My friend I will not say it is craze but on the contrary I will term it as liking. Actually learning new language one to to have the liking from within their heart and only then they can learn it. If someone force you to learn it, no doubt you will try to learn it but you will not show that much interest in it. Any way good move and determination you have in life. All the best my friend.
I knew French other than English, Hindi, Marathi,

I think that for an adult its important to never stop learning.

I didn't knew about livemocha, it seems a nice tool. I will surf it the next minutes/hours. I want to learn Greek, and it's kind of difficult, maybe this will help. I speak besides my mothertongue, English (i try to improve it daily), Spanish (quite well), and some French.

Yes, I am now learning Thai, it is not a craze but it is more of a need to me, I need to learn Thai for teaching my students. and it helps me a lot if they don't understand English. somehow my thai is very bad and students will think and say what I want to say? they laugh at me, and say it in English. Sometimes, they give me the words in thai. so we both learn, thai and english.. english and thai. I also tried to learn Normad (Norway) and Russian (Russia) because I wanted to add more knowledge to me. However it is now like a bland soup. All mixed up all there in one soup without taste. In other words no mastery. lifeeeeeeee
