This kind of act is not a good attitude. You are only destroying your reputation in the eyes of people. For professionalism-wise, it is a downside of your career. I've known one person who had done such act, the company let him have force resignation and the possible case will be drop. If you flip the coins, it is a win-lose situation, you didn't have a case but the reputations stained your dignity in the eyes of people.

I wonder how much they would accept it if it touched them personally.

big bad idea. there are times no one can do anything about it. crime and poverty are here to stay. only thing worrisome about crime is where it has become so important that the criminals start earning revenue that disturbs other people, else most persons just accept it like that.

Yes, that's illegal and if you are idealistic enough you can not stand to see someone is allowing a forgery. I have a story about this... A teacher who was an OIC to the discipline of prefect in school. A student should get an admit slip from the Discipline of Prefect office if she came in late for the class. A student approach the OIC, and I witnessed how this OIC signed an admit slip using the Discipline of Prefect's signature and not her own signature. I was like this
. She's been an old time teacher there around 20 something years in service, and she did it in front of the student and in front of me. What values had she taught on the student? When she can sign the slip in her own signature since she is a teacher and she is an OIC.

It is so unethical of doing it. And the worst, like what you've said, it will ruin your reputation and your career.

It is really a crime and it is so dangerous and needs to be seriously considered the consequences. As you said, even I know certain people done forgery to secure job and still placed on higher postion with not even appearing for the specified exams and he is holding fake certs. and fooling up the company.
However, it is the company who provide the job also needs to validate the papers which are provided alongwith the resumes. It is their duty to verify the certificates and other papers are genune and correct. There are tendencies for people to secure fake certs. and make alterations in the original papers to secure jobs.
Even just 10-15 days back also, a known person got a new job by providing forged papers to get a job and only because of my act, I don't want to spoil someone's life by providing 'information' and it is the HR people's responsibility to make adequate enquiry on the person before providing the job.

I think forgery is a crime it is like stealing someone identity. It could ruin their lives and if you get caught yours. Never worth it. Not even for the teens who forge their parents names so that will not find out something that they did, because believe me us parents always know.

Forgery is a serious crime. This means that a person is deceiving himself and others. We deal with each other and when we forge others signature we deceive a person's identity that means we are stealing somebody's signature. So that is a real crime.

Forgery is big money to the criminals, you hear it all too often about people's identity being stolen, and with technology it has made it all too easy. When I was young I could have so easily of forged my mother's signature it was so easy to forge but I never did, my father's was too complicated to even try. At the end of the day forgery is a crime and punishable in any court.

Yes, I think it's really bad. It's a good move that your company forced him to resign or else he might do even worst. It's noble of your company to have not done legal actions and didn't cause any further damage to that person. I'm sure he will not get any positive outcome with what he did. Good luck if there's still a company willing to accept him.

Forgery, no matter how you view it is a crime. It is clearly deceiving people for their one's personal gain.
I saw this: http://forgery.uslegal.com/
The Federal Criminal Code makes counterfeiting and forgery and certain related activities federal offenses. However, these federal statutes do not preempt the use of state law to convict a defendant for forging federal income tax documents[x]. Some forgery statutes divide forgery into degrees. Thus, these statutes provide different punishments in proportion to the seriousness of the act by which the crime is committed.

Hi friend, forgery is not a good thing, as we know it is a crime, there is no difference between simple crime and crimes, all the crimes are same and deserved for the punishment. We must avoid doing forgery in our life

I am sure that the laws in all country penalise forgery. It can ruin someone`s life or it can be done to take away money from someone else, just like another kind of scam.
