Although I don't have a touch screen TV but somewhat I don't think it will be a successful product. First, it is comfortable enough for me to sit in my sofa to control the TV with the remote-control. So it means nothing whether the screen is touchable or not. Second, it will leave finger prints on the TV screen and it will have an effect when you watch the TV. Third, I wonder whether this kind of screen is durable or not. What do you think?

i would think the manufacturers of these 'touch-screen' tv will also produce tv screen which is 'smudge-free', and of course - it will have to be a durable one - i am sure they've done a lot of research before they announced 'new inventions'. in some of our shopping complex here, they have big 'touch-screen' tv, that serves as a directory of all the shops' locations in the mall - so, i think the 'home-touch-screen-tv' will also work in similar way...

I would worry about my eyes, if the touch screen tv was that close, surely that can't be good for the sight? My computers I have to constantly clean because of finger marks, so I can't imagine how the screen would stay clean for long? Yes I would view this negatively, give the remote control any day! Some things just don't need to be invented and a touch screen tv is one of those in my view.

I also concern about this. Especially it is harmful for children's eyesight.

I agree . If it is touchscreen we have to always go near the TV to change the channels which is not comfortable and also we cant watch the TV by relaxing on the sofa. Instead we need to do the exercise from TV to sofa, always get up and change. I like it the remote control way.

Perhaps it is better to play the Wii if you want to do some exercises at home
