Yup. I finally ordered a new Mac Mini. And an Apple USB Super Drive so I can read and write CDs. I went with the mini because I can still use my existing 17" monitor. I don't have a lot of room here, and the Apple desktop's smallest screen is 21.5" Plus it's so thin, I'd probably keep knocking it over, especially when reaching behind it to access my printer.
I ordered it online from a site that gives airmiles, using my charge card that gives other points. Double dipping! Whee!

I guess that's an early Christmas present to yourself, right? Well I sincerely hope you have better luck with a Mac product than I have. For some reason I am cursed with Macs. I have gone through 4 of them, all developing different faults within years of each other! My mac now doubles up as a television screen, I just watch catch up tv on it and play Zynga games, all the other stuff I rely on my laptop now. Enjoy your new toy ;0)

I wasn't thinking about that when I finally ordered it, but I guess it is a Christmas present for myself. I don't normally buy myself gifts.
I've always had Macs. I do have a PC but I let my friend use it when she comes over. I just watch TV on it.

That's smart shopping! I take advantage of my card's points whenever I can although I cash them in and put them in my savings account. I recently won a $100 Visa gift card in a drawing on a survey site and tried to empty it into my savings but no! That's no longer allowed, you must spend it--and you can't spend and return for cash, either. I thought about donating it but then I thought of the medical bills I have coming so I'll use it for that.
Whenever I can, I shop the online and physical stores that let me double or triple dip. If we shop smart like you and I do, those savings add up to nice amounts.

Well, I've been wanting to get a new one since the spring, but I had to use the money I'd saved up for it for other things. But my savings are up again, and with the double points I can save money on other things.
I guess it is a Christmas present to myself.

I feel happy for you.Is your Apple Mac Mini with quad-core processor ? They say that can get up to twice the speed of the previous-generation dual-core one.

No, it's still just dual-core. The quad-core costs $200 more, and I'm on a budget.

I use those charge cards for everything! That is because I get the rewards and I never pay the interest. I charge only what I can pay for that month and I rack up the points. I use the points for purchasing items that are 'luxuries' for myself. I have ordered the Keurig coffee maker from Visa at least three times and usually do so each year around Christmas. This means I have a new Keurig and can give the older one to someone who wants one and doesn't mind having a second hand one.

You want a good points story? I managed to pay down my mortgage on my last house with Z points... I just happened to have gotten my mortgage with Royal Trust and they had a deal with Club Z about cutting the interest rate with Z points. I kept my payments the same, so ended up shortening it by several years. Unfortunately, neither Royal Trust nor Zellers are extant.
