TNT just announce they were cancelling Leverage with little or no warning and no explanation for why. The shows producers apparently thought something was up ahead of time since they weren't told about a possible renewal. Because they felt the show might be cancelled, they filmed a final episode to conclude the show. That will be shown after Christmas.

Yeah, of all the TNT shows, you didn't really get the feeling TNT was into promoting them like they used to. The last episode is I think supposed to air Christmas Day. On a Tuesday night like they regularly do, I think. It's a shame, but I think most of these actors will bounce back and get some different roles. And I too believe I read where they got the feeling this might be it, so just in case they gave it an ending that could be a series finale.

They kept changing the time slot it was hard to find. They knew they were cacelling the show. The least they could have done is promote the last episode. But they were probably worried about a backlash from fans.

Actually, I'm hearing they knew the show would end, but think maybe didn't know it would be over on Christmas Day, as I would have been upset with that news. How many people will see the last episode? The last episode is titled “The Long Good-bye Job". They wrote that last episode awhile ago and even said a month ago knew it was the last season.

From what I read, the producers expected that the end was coming because TNT was quiet regarding a possible renewal. That's why they wrote and film a final episode. The official cancellation didn't come until this past Friday. That seems like a cowardly way to cancel a show since it doesn't allow fans to mount a campaign asking for the show to be renewed.
