Bizarre Water Leak

Today just now in the kitchen just now my mom and I were out there, I just started to put my dinner on and she will be making something else for the rest of the family, and she put her foot in something wet on the floor. There is this large maybe 8 x 6 inch worn spot in the flooring where my dad has his chair and it is maybe 1/4" or less high. No one knows where the water came from though, it was just all sitting in that spot, no where else in the kitchen, dad said he wasn't even out there, no water had spilled off the table there, etc. The mystery is now where in the heck did that water come from? There can't be an leaks from under the flooring right? Is this house just getting wierd on us all again? There have been other instances of strange things happening....I wonder sometimes. If this place is haunted somehow. Spooky.
